Known for its premium matcha tea and hailing all the way from Japan, Tsujirihei Honten has been returning to Takashimaya Food Hall for years. Loyal matcha fans must be familiar with the velvety matcha ice cream drizzled with thick matcha syrup, but this time they topped it up with the famous and absolutely delicious piece of "Uji Green Powdered Tea Chocolate Crunch with Tencha" at no additional cost 😚.

Fyi: Each box (9pcs) of the Chocolate Crunch actually costs ¥1,458 (~SGD$18).

每年仿佛是一个约定. Tsujirihei Hoten - my favourite Japanese tea shop is back with its robust tea ice cream. My love for the sweet nutty houjicha goes as deep as my love for matcha 😘. Tsujirihei Honten is doing something special for their loyal matcha SG fans. This year they topped up every softserve with a piece of their famous 茶ノ道 (which cost about $2 each) for free!! 😆

Houjicha ($7) is less intense than matcha and more towards strong roasted tea taste. I decided not add sauce into Houjicha Soft Serve as got bad experience during first time having soft serve was melting too fast with adding sauce and also want to try original taste without adding sauce at same time.

@tsujirihei_honten is back at @takashimayasg and I had to have their ultra rich hojicha soft serve! I had it with matcha baumkuchen but the hojicha flavour was so strong it tasted like normal cake 😅 My favourite topping is still their matcha crunch which has a richer matcha flavour 😋

In the cone, with crunchy chocolate add-on.
Rich intense green tea from the softserve which was carefully twirl by the friendly staff.
More green tea sauce drizzled over it for an enhanced taste.
Consistently a favourite snack always.

Tsujirihei-Honten is back till 22 Jan this time round! Will never be able to resist getting a cone whenever they are here. Even though it’s on the pricier end at $7, they are generous with the portion and definitely one of the best ones around for its intensity and bitter notes.
