fluffy cheese muffin

Ordered a mix of 9 muffins. Was not given the option of choosing the 9, and instead a member of staff shoved 9 random ones in the bag - it was not one of each for sure. Tasted very ordinary and the staff were rude and disinterested. Would not bother coming again.

Bought two packs of cheese twists for $7 cos they looked so crunchy and tasty while displayed on the counter. Staff assured me they can be kept for two weeks. Went back and tried it and I was sorely disappointed. The twists were stale with no cheese umami whatsoever.... may have been on their counter for two weeks because nobody buys them. Tried their apple tart which is their signature product. Nothing to crow about. Wont be back ever again.

Their snow skin is soft and I like their texture. My favourite is their osmanthus honey truffle. However the price vs size of the mooncake seem steep for me. More a “luxury” buy for me.

Late to the party, my CNY backlog ensues (part 1)- first I’d like to introduce some of the new goodies I’ve had over the (extended) 3 days of festive feasting.
One, almond pillows from Baker’s Well which reminded me so much of the crushed till fine almond nuts i used in a vegan almond muffin recipe I was trying. What this really means is a little carbs to bind an unadulterated portion of fine almond bites. Very nutritious and almost unfit for the indulgent nature of CNY.
Next, Le’s golf ball pineapple tarts. I’ve known the establishment for their signature beancurd tarts but was pleased to find they do a good rendition of the classic CNY treat; at an abnormal size it was very nice to share a piece with a loved one to leave room for the other containers on the table.

Had croissant and iced lemongrass here. The croissant is not crispy (apparently it is not fresh from the oven) and doesn’t have any buttery taste. The lemongrass is better than expected - i just wish it is bigger in size.
