Amazing pastries, friendly staff and a myriad of tantalising flavours and bakes to choose from. However, do come before 11am (WEEKDAY) so as to be able to peruse leisurely without needing to fear not being able to get what you want. Weekends, however, be ready to queue even at 8.30am 😂

Must get:
Cruffins ($5)— Any. See it. Grab it. Especially the salted caramel and lemon curd iterations. Decadent, creamy and a balanced flavour profile.

Croissant ($3.50; plain)— Don’t know what to get still? One can never go wrong with this simple, amazingly flakey and buttery goodness.

BKA [Brera Kouign Amann] ($6)— What’s better than a croissant? One that’s encased in a layer of caramelised sugar that provides flavour profiles of toffee and burnt-bittersweet. Crunchy, sinful, decadent. Amazing. Inspired by the amazing Dominique Ansel.

I do enjoy the Pain Au Chocolat here, where the pastry breaks into a thousand buttery shards with each bite, showering the plate (and the table) with its delicious crumbs. Despite the mess, I'd eat this over and over again.

The Kouig-Amann I tried this time round seemed to fall short of my expectations though, seemingly faring better the first time round I got it. Is it me or does certain food tastes better in memories? 🤔

Weekend Special

Cheese Pretzel (S$4.20)

Taro Mochi Double-Baked Croissant (S$7.80)
Love the chunk of Mochi but kind of too sweet.

Grabbed the Taro Mochi double-baked croissant, a weekend special. Think a slightly dense croissant packed fully with an earthy yam purée, which reminded me of Orh nee. Slicing it revealed the cubes of sticky mochi, good to have but I have never been a fan of mochi. What was great was its moderate sweetness, although could have been more buttery.

Read about their basque burnt cheesecake so often that I just had to try for myself. Only available for a season, the lychee rose basque burnt cheesecake earned praises from the family for its meltingly good texture and a rich, savoury cream cheese flavour. Made with 3 different types of cheese in the creamy oozy middle, and an evenly burnt top, the overall taste was balanced yet addictive! In addition, the juicy lychee bits complemented extremely well with the delicate rose flavor. Will be back for the other flavours soon!

I was spoilt for choice by their variety of cruffin flavours. As we cut open the cruffin, the homemade caramel walnut filling of a thick consistency started oozing out quickly. Not cloyingly sweet, but also resembled butterscotch minus the walnut. Instead, the only nuttiness that I tasted was from the pistachio bits sprinkled above. Overall pretty average, with a saltiness stronger than the sweetness.
