The kaya toast was relatively (not superrr) crispy and came with a pretty thick cold butter piece. The homemade kaya was nice, texture is slightly similar to tong ah’s but not as lumpy (which I appreciate), and it had a light pleasant taste and wasn’t too sweet! Would have preferred if the toast was more crisp :)

Coffee is interesting! A bit sour and has q a strong coffee taste bc I ordered kopi o.

🤩🤩 Eggs and toast were pretty good. 👍🏻 This cafe is mondo cooll w their minimalist decor and yakun style breakfast sets. 😍😍 ⁣

I lurve lurve how the cafe made use of natural lighting to filter into the place. If I had the time, I would chill at this cafe the wholeee day. ⁣
Pity they only open during weekdays, :( haiii. ⁣

Aesthetically well presented, nice place to chill near the workplace, serves decent food at an economical price

Rivals your run the mill Ya Kun and Toast Box, pretty decent set for a light bite. Those eggs were on steroids and the baguette-y sandwich was satisfying to gnaw on

Prices are affordable ($6.80 for curry chicken set with coffee). Kaya tasted different from other places worth a try. Would recommend to add your own preferred amount of chili as the curry chicken is kinda non spicy.
Prepare for no air condition but it’s windy and spacious even though it’s not a big area

From the new Banchong Cafe; a pretty, open-air cafe situated at Vanguard Campus just a short distance away from Lavender MRT Station and Bendemeer MRT Station that carries the namesake of the former building and company that stands here (i.e. Banchong Industries Co. (Pte.) Ltd.). Serving up local cuisine just like Toast Box/Killiney Kopitiam/Fun Toast, the difference with Banchong Cafe would be its sleek aesthetics and minimalistic style — a very different environment that is great to spend the afternoon away.

Really liked the Kaya Toast here; the Kaya (dubbed Chef GK's Kaya) being made fresh in-house on a daily basis was certainly delicious with its mellow sweetness and evident fragrance of pandan — pretty light yet aromatic as compared to commercially-made kaya that other joints use. Pair that with a huge slab of butter, and the combination is just comfort food at its best, sandwiched between two crisp slices of brown toast. A pity how Banchong Cafe is only opened on weekdays from 8am to 4pm; this is really one of the better Kaya Toast I have had thus far despite the many I had tried — one that I don't mind making that special trip for just to satisfy those cravings!
