The custard is smooth and milk and reminds me alot of the taste in Japan. However the choux pastry shell would have been better if its hot and crispy. The contrast would have made the experience heavenly. What a waste. Do share this dessert with a friend it is pretty large for a single pax.
The Americano coffee is smooth without the acidic taste. The coffee/milk soft serve is really good. It's milk and creamy without the cloying thickness of rich dairy product. A must order.
Good thing you need to share with others for eating cream puff finish. I felt quite full and bloated while eating half cream puff already. Got that not thick and milky cream for hokkaido milk and also they just released new coffee flavour for cream puff.
I finally tried their soft serve for hokkaido milk (promotion pricing = $2 for 04/01/2020) I don't felt diary intolerant for first time and not that strong or creamy taste for milk. It's quite easily to melt away and you need to take photo for ice cream faster a bit.. You all should tried their cream puff or soft serve for first time at list.
In the mood for a stronger dose of coffee and wanting to give their Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk soft serve a try, I also got their classic Espresso Affogato ($7.50). A sweet deal if you want the best of both worlds, the affogato served as a good pick-me-up. The swirl melted pretty quickly but the resulting concoction was smooth and worked well to balance out the strong espresso in my opinion.
Giving their signature cream puffs a caffeine boost, Baristart Coffee’s January exclusive Coffee Flavoured Cream Puff ($6) was a hit for me. Loaded with luscious Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk custard that is infused with their mild coffee blend, the thick cream was aromatic yet surprisingly light. With a nutty, sweet, and milky undertone, the addition of the coffee was certainly a plus in my books. The sizable choux pastry puff was also airy and crisp - overall a great accompaniment to the generous amount of velvety custard cream that is encased within.
