Barrio is my favorite mexican restaurant in sg as it has so many varities of mexican dishes to choose from and you can choose your proteins as well to go with the dish. Decided to try their chicken tacos this time round. The protein that they use is the same for all dishes. The crispy tacos we not that crispy and a bit soggy. However, the generous amount of ingredients made up for it. Juicy marinated chicken with sweet pineapple salsa and lettuce🤤. Very filling as well. Comparee to other mexican restaurants, i would say that this dish is worth $12.

Tacos Tuesday is always a fantasy but with the mindset like Emmett and the feisty cooks of Barrio by Mex Out; Taco Tuesday is a dream come true everyday! So everything is awesome! Barrio has a fantastic location which is really convenient with the MRT to Somerset and a short walk leads you to this brightly lit place that serves delicious Mexican fare!
After much reading and analysis of the menu, we decided to get the Tacos individually (SGD8 per piece) but you still can get those sets like Tacos for One, I’m hungry or Tacos Fiesta! But we went for the Pork Carnitas, Baja Fish & 6Hr Braised Beef.. The tacos are all freshly made and each of them are just out of this world! The Braised beef for me is the stand out as it just melts in your mouth! Effortless eating and the pork carnitas has some spice kick to it alongside with the tenderness of the pork!

First time trying this place! I’ve always enjoyed Mexican food but never really had the chance to try it in Singapore...till yesterday! We shared braised beef + baja fish tacos which were really flavorful - the taco shell/skin (?) was thin so it didn’t feel too heavy BUT with the heaps of toppings it was actually really filling. The beef was soft and flavorful, and the fish was crispy thought the sauce was a bit overwhelming imo. The pork quesadillas were delicious, and went especially well with the guac. The guac itself was super fresh and I ate it straight from the bowl hahaha + the salsa was good too, although a bit spicy!!! Overall it was a good meal but a bit overpriced :’)

Being a Mexican restaurant, we were expecting out of the world flavors. However, our fish and prawn tacos were really mediocre. The portions were really small and we’re glad that it’s on Entertainer. If not, the disappointment would be doubled. The beer battered sea bass tasted like sad fish and chips (not crispy) drizzled with chipotle aioli topped with pickled cabbage. There were 2 prawns in each taco which were big and fresh but there’s too much chipotle and cheese sauce coating them, which made the flavors very one dimensional. Definitely lacked something citrusy in these tacos to give them a kick. #burpple

Salad-a-day but not super healthy. There were guac, chicken, salsa, parmesan, black beans, at just $10 instead of $15, every monday! #salad #mexicanfood #burpplesg #burpple #sgfoodies #sgfood #foodstagram @mexout
