Popped by Basilico a while back using a #ChopeDealsSG voucher. Iโ€™ve heard such good things about their food, and they didnโ€™t disappoint indeed.

We had the ๐™๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐š ๐๐ข ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ž ($38) which was a southern Italian-style seafood stew topped with generous chunks of sea bass, salmon, mussels, prawns and scallops. The seafood was all insanely fresh and I absolutely loved slurping the stew up. It made for such a hearty dinner.

Next, we ordered the ๐–๐š๐ ๐ฒ๐ฎ ๐๐ž๐ž๐Ÿ ๐‹๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ ๐ง๐š ($34). Itโ€™s one of their signature dishes with 12-hour slow-cooked wagyu beef ragout topped with fontina cheese fondue. This was also a hit, with us devouring it within minutes.

Overall, 8.5/10! Although the food is slightly pricey, we would say that it is well worth the price. The ambience was also pretty cozy, perfect for a dinner date out.

Pre Covid, the weekend buffet brunch here used to be our fav, mainly because of the extreme diversity of dishes and types of Italian cooking on display. They are doing their best to provide this diversity, but if itโ€™s only a fraction of what it used to be. Quality of ingredients also seems to have gone down a little. Most importantly, the experience is less satisfying, mainly because the (otherwise excellent) staff are overworked with all the serving they now have to do. Requests are sometimes forgotten. There also seems to be an intended delay to serve the free flow wine in a cost-control effort? It remains very good quality, and decent value, however. During the week, many ร  la carte offerings are outstanding, like for instance an amazing carbonara.

Featuring their ๐Ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง ๐๐š๐ค๐ž๐ ๐“๐ซ๐ฎ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐ž ๐…๐จ๐œ๐š๐œ๐œ๐ข๐š. Usually I donโ€™t go for bread during a buffet because it fills you up easily. But this was pretty good - Light, fragrant, cheesy and fresh, but a tad bit dry. You gotta try a piece of it! Together with the rest of the antipasti and cold cut meat, it was delightfully appetising!

By looks-wise, itโ€™s no more glamorous than your standard vanilla ice-cream, but the taste was very interesting. Each mouthful was an adevnture and itโ€™s best to savour it slowly๐Ÿ˜Œ. Imagine the powerful aroma of truffles in a sweet, creamy form...You just gotta try it yourself!

๐๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐จ ๐ฐ๐ž๐ž๐ค๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐›๐ซ๐ฎ๐ง๐œ๐ก offers a luxurious Italian brunch buffet with a sumptuous seafood spread, an array of cheeses, free-flow foie gras and of course, not forgetting the all-time favourites - homemade pastas, antipasti and more.

I went for their festive weekend luxury brunch on a Sunday, during the Christmas period. Due to covid, itโ€™s more of like courses-style instead of buffet-style whereby they will serve you everything on the menu. You can, of course, ask for additional portions of whichever item you fancy.

Some items that I fancy are ๐™›๐™ค๐™ž๐™š ๐™œ๐™ง๐™–๐™จ, ๐™˜๐™ง๐™–๐™— ๐™ก๐™š๐™œ๐™จ, ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ช๐™›๐™›๐™ก๐™š ๐™›๐™ค๐™˜๐™–๐™˜๐™˜๐™ž๐™–, ๐™ง๐™ค๐™–๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™ง๐™ ๐™š๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™œ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™™ ๐™ก๐™–๐™ข๐™— ๐™˜๐™๐™ค๐™ข๐™ฅ๐™จ. Apart from the above, they have some interesting offerings such as ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ช๐™›๐™›๐™ก๐™š ๐™ž๐™˜๐™š-๐™˜๐™ง๐™š๐™–๐™ข! A thing to note is that the seafood platter Iโ€™d that day was not fresh, except for the crab legs which was good! But truthfully, I was disappointed with the quality of the seafood as Iโ€™d high expectations of Basilico and also the fact that Iโ€™m paying a high price for it.

You could top up for free-flow alcohol to pair with your weekend brunch selections. Itโ€™s a good idea to enjoy a laze noon with some wine as they have aged-ham, prosciutto, salami and aged italian cheese platters to go along with it.
