Mini VaDai (S$3/10)
In assorted flavours such as ikan bilis, crab 🦀 (crab stick), fish (fish cake), chicken (hot dog), veggie and chilli.
Available at @theoriginalvadai stall (unit no. A4) in the woodlands bazaar which was last day yesterday.
Barely felt the filling.

Kind of disappointed that the prawn 🦐 vadai was selling at S$1 per piece, instead of the listed S$2.50/ 3 pcs.

They may have a permanent stall, but their pop-up kiosks at events still draw long queues.

This 2019, they've also branched out to offer fresh grilled lobsters, alongside their signature halal Taiwanese style beef cubes.

The beef is blow torch grilled, which is like taking a sledgehammer to a nail; lacking elegance and finesse, but an eye-catching spectacle.

This features beef cubes, blow torch grilled till well done, with a firm, chewy, juicy texture, and bold meaty savoury flavour.

Coated in a house special, Sichuan / Szechuan mala peppercorn sauce, which has bold spicy numbing flavour.
.
Garnished with dried red chili flakes, you can opt to add their secret recipe sambal belacan for a real fiery kick.

Wish the mala was slightly more spicy though, and wish they cooked the beef medium rare instead.

It's actually opposed by Mars Incorporated themselves, who said "deep-frying one of our products would go against our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles".

The version here has a light spongy batter, with a gooey creamy texture within, and bold sweet caramel chocolate notes.

Drizzled with chocolate sauce and dusted with icing sugar for presentation.

Australian Mini Lobster Nasi Lemak (S$6.80)
Available at @Seafood.Hunter Seafood Hunter Concept Stall (Stall no. X45) in Bazar Raya Utara 2018, next to Woodlands MRT Station.
Besides the lobster, there’s crispy mini crab 🦀 and lava egg 🥚 in the dish. The sambal was not bad but it was slightly letdown by the uneven texture of the rice 🍚.
