My type of comfort food on rainy days. The noodles are well cooked with a nice texture. Prawns were fresh and the broth was flavourful with a slight sweetness. The additional of fried shallots just made it even tastier 》$6/small

Finally in this part of the East and took the chance to try Beach Road Prawn Mee. Prawns were sweet, fresh and came off their shells cleanly, but wasn’t as impressed by the broth. Perhaps was the expectations, but we were hoping for a more robust base. Thumbs up to the really quick service despite the crowd though! They also have their prawn mee served with pork ribs, pig tail, etc.

Prawn Mee Soup, $6 from 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 ⠀

We hadn’t had a good bowl of prawn noodles for a long time and decided to pop by to try 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 since this is voted one of the popular one in the East! A long line was form outside to wait for a table during lunch time but the q moves relatively fast. We were given a empty table to sit, before placing our order at their counter. Given the full house situation, we were surprised to receive our bowl of prawn mee soup in only about 10 mins waiting time! Efficiency! Ordered the soup version with yellow noodles and it was impressive! Broth were very flavourful and not being overwhelming strong in taste, we can still taste the sweetness of prawn in it and best of all, you can bring your bowl to the counter to top up your broth for free! Prawns were super fresh and huge, it’s being sliced in half and it’s easy to deshell. Very satisfying and we enjoy it! ⠀

The soup is really good - rich, sweet and full of umami. The lard, shallots and chilli powder just melt together to make take the soup to the next level. Also, prawns are large and fresh. A bit pricey ($12 for jumbo) but you get the quality you pay for.

You also should try the prawn crackers from the stall next to it.

Love the soup from the prawn and pork ribs noodles ($6) here as you can taste the fragrance of the prawn within the soup itself. Portion wise isn't too bad; quite bit of pork ribs were given together with the prawn!

Of course, some wu xiang to go with your noodles is recommended 😍

Have been eating this for a long time now (introduced by my parents!) and it’s my childhood prawn mee & ngoh hiang place :) Standards have fallen slightly over the years, but the hot prawn soup satisfies. I also really like the cumifen that is slightly thinner than that of regular stalls’.

The ngoh hiang plate which is crispy and not too oily, makes for a great accompaniment to the prawn mee!
