Finding this place took a while, but the trip was worth it.
Not only do they cook it in front of you, they also ask what level of doneness you want your beef to be.
Beef was cooked to perfection and the meal comes with 2 side dishes chawanmushi and miso soup. The side dishes leave much to be desired surprisingly, but I wasnโt there for that.
Beef sukiyaki in other places can get so cloyingly sweet but this one was actually pleasantly sweet, probably thanks to the quality of raw brown sugar being used.
Have your Donburi prepared and cooked at your table right infront of you at ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐ฒ๐๐ค๐ข ๐๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ค๐!
Having read raving reviews about it, I decided to go with their ๐ฝ๐๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฟ๐ค๐ฃ. Each bowl comes with miso soup, chawanmushi and an onsen egg which you can put on top of your rice.
Before the chef starts cooking, the meat is neatly presented on a tray and showed to us. While watching the chef do his magic, the aroma together with the sizzling makes my tummy grumble. I was salivating hard when the end product was finally presented to me. The beef was very flavorful and had the melt-in-the-mouth texture with just the right ratio of meat and fats. The sukiyaki sauce has a balanced sweet-savoury profile. After cooking the beef, the chef poured the rest of the sukiyaki sauce into a small bowl, allowing you to adjust the saltiness level according to your own liking.
At $14.90, I will definitely be back for more!
Enjoyed my meal here. Beef was cooked right infront of us, to our preferred done-ness. The set comes with soup, chawanmushi and an onsen egg. I especially loved the chawanmushi, custard-like texture instead of the usual watery type. Portion-wise, it was just nice for a big eater like me. Thereโs a premium version of the bowl with wagyu beef @ $29.90, but Iโm already very satisfied with the โcheaperโ bowl. Will sure be back for the premium bowl when Iโm feeling rich!
Talk about table service! Each Don (even if you didnโt get the Kiwami Wagyu-$29.90) is lovingly prepared a la minute in front of you. The Singaporean chefs are quiet and meticulous. Medium-rare recommended! Love the shimeji mushrooms and scallions. Seating is really limited (10pax) so if you donโt reach before 6pm on a weekend, be expected to queue queue queue!
$12.90-$14.90 solid beef don ๐
Pros:
1. Donโt be deceived. The bowl is HUGE. Like an actual rice bowl size.
2. Fast & intimate service
3. Chawanmushi is on the house
4. Each bowl comes with glass noodles + tofu + cabbage so you donโt feel that crazy meat overload
5. If your tastebuds spoiled, you can just get the pork instead of the beef which is $2 cheaper and tastes equally good
Cons:
Queue is very. Very. Long. No reservations allowed so just be prepared to wait since the place holds 8 ish pax at max.
Offering only a few items on the menu, Keisuke always surprised us with various type of Japanese foods.
What interesting here was the beef are prepared in front of you, before serving to you. So you could choose how you want your beef to be cooked.
The meal also comes with a chawanmushi and boiled egg for you to put on top of your beef. Thereโs also sauce given in case you feel your rice bowl too dry.
