Crispy shell plumped up with juicy pork and fresh prawn that’s so, so, so succulent. Served with truffle infused Mayo and a serving of ketchup - I’d say, skip the ketchup and head straight for the truffle Mayo. You don’t need ketchup to taint the wonderful aroma of truffle!! Love how thoughts have been put into the plating, with fried wanton noodles beneath the fried dumplings, creating a β€œnest bed” - these fried wanton strings can be pretty addictive too!

Ps: There’s also the option of fried wantons but... you should really try the dumplings first!! β€˜As recommended by the first-gen hawker owner himself!

Charsiew wanton noodles with thiccc juicy charsiew in glossy red gravy (not the dry-looking and thinly sliced meat!) Comes with fried wanton too!! Love the thicccc gravy served generously with the noodles. It might be a tad too salty if you don’t mix well. So be patient and mix it proper ☺️

Dumpling wanton noodles was served with plump dumplings, stuffed with minced meat and fresh prawns.
β€˜Also topped with some greens to balance the meal.

Note: There used to be $4 and $5 options but now it’s a standard $6! Portion was pretty huge tho

Do also try the fried dumplings! (Go for the dumplings and not the wantons, as recommended by the stall owner himself!)

The al dente egg noodles is paired with their home-made char siew slices, which are nicely charred and tender!

First thing first, I just want you guys to appreciate the dark sauce brushed on the plate!! 😍 I thought it was the plate design and of course, my itchy hand went to touch itπŸ˜… but no, they did it themselves! 🎨 How cool is that!
The noodles are cooked just the way I liked it, half cooked? Like the inside of the noodle is still kinda uncooked so when you bite it, you will get that satisfying biteπŸ€ͺπŸ˜…πŸœ
I also really liked their char siew, its pretty good! Noodle portion is quite sizeable. The fried wanton is oily, you can taste the oil and I’m not a fan of oily food. Overall pretty decent!πŸ‘
Verdict: I won’t especially travel there to eat those but if I’m nearby, I will go back to try the wanton noodle stall’s otah!😬
Ps: the wanton stall is closed every monday and opens only until 4:30pm

This was all kinds of awesome. Not only has it been my favourite dish since childhood, but everything about this plate hit the right notes: the noodles were Q the way i like, char siew thick and juicy, wontons deep fried and boiled in equal quantity and just the right size, vegetables fresh without chemical aftertaste, the sauce flavourful without being overwhelming, chilli had the right amount of spice, even the soup (usually treated as a by-product) was delicious. Bonus points for the plating. 5/5 like it's price ($5) 🀣

Definitely one of the better wanton mee’s I have tasted. They serve relatively thicker char siew slices that have a nice char on it. Wantons were normal, not outstanding. Noodles had a nice bite to it and absorbed the sauce well. Presentation is definitely eye-catching with the dark soy sauce smeared onto the rim Michelin style. I’d say this comes 2nd/3rd on my wanton mee list (after Eng’s) and maybe a tie with the one at Dunman Hawker Centre. Worth a try if you are in the area 😊
