A date that’s fun and engaging – that’s the meal you and your bae will discover when you dine at Beta KL. With course meals in three, five or seven dishes, each plate features familiar flavours and homegrown ingredients such as cincalok and gula Melaka. Pro tip: The resto-bar also does cocktail pairings for these meals offered.

The winged beans tossed in budu (fermented fish sauce native of Terengganu) aïoli and crispy shallots, the second photo of the carousel, is easily the winner of the lot. You beta not miss coming here, I tell you hor. Ok, that's all.

Beta KL is nest at the East Wing of Fraser Place building. You can choose to try out their 3 course dinner menu (RM150) or ask them to get you the à la carte menu. Beta is a beautifully designed place if you are looking for a chill place that to enjoy a glass of cocktail and ‘just-right’ portion meal. The staffs are attentive, friendly and helpful in ordering food.| Photo: Soft shell crab (RM45), Chicken (RM45), Duck Leg (RM60), Roti (2 pieces RM8), Blue Rice (RM5)

Can you believe these rolls are RM10 a pop? AND I actually think they’re worth it!? Best creative take on a curry puff I’ve had yet (although the name sounds a bit off, they’re not really inverted?). Those crispy, hollow shells hold a dollop of fragrant, tasty potatoes in curry cream, and the combination is utterly delicious. Pro tip: Use your hands.

Twice cooked duck leg with fermented black bean sauce. When it comes to paying homage to local recipes, Beta does KL justice. The tender duck is cooked beautifully, gleaming with a sprinkle of sesame. Beneath, the black bean sauce is an elegant take on the Chinese-style condiment, as a flurry of basil leaves and coriander on the side is responsible for keeping your palate refreshed. Take the manager’s advice and have it with warm, crispy roti canai.
