Cookies ‘n Cream Supreme ($20)
.
Like a hipster hairdo, the cookies ‘n cream crazy shake lives up to being crazy. This sugar-laden shake is literally not meant for the fainthearted and needs to be shared amongst 3 or maybe even 4. Topped with a gigantic cookies and cream sandwich that has been stacked with loads of cream stuck on with more whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. Worth a try once. Just once.

Not suprising - the burgers at Black Tap are phenomenal. Yes surprising - the Turkey Burger Salad is my favorite salad of all time. ALL TIME. Anywhere in the world. Really.

It’s the perfect place to go if someone wants to indulge and another wants to be healthy.

It’s made with a turkey burger, kale, apple, blue cheese (which I switch for feta), avocado, dried cranberries, and a house buttermilk dressing. The turkey patty is moist and so flavorful - you can even ask for the dressing on the side since the juice from the turkey acts like a tasty & natural dressing. It’s SO satisfying - even when your husband is sitting across from you eating a double-burger and 2 portions of fries. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

. ✨: casual American burger restaurant, perfect for families with small children. It’s actually really well done, aesthetically too!
🍴: a burger or a salad - make sure to go for something with a meat patty (if not vegetarian). The original 🍟 and sweet potato fries are also amazing here. 🥗: there are a couple vegetarian options - “vegan burger” and a falafel burger. Gluten free buns available too.
🧁: if it’s your first time, you kinda have to get one of their famous milkshakes for dessert. And then you’ll probably never want one again. .
💰: $$
❗️: no reservations, lines are long at lunchtime. But there are often bar seats available.
⏱: 11am-11:30pm everyday .

The name “Black Tap” might have suggested the pride of the beers in the house, but I would really want to give a special mention to their signature Crazyshakes, which were giant milkshakes with very elaborate accessories.

I had the Sweet N’ Salty Crazyshake (S$20.00), which included a chocolate frosted rim with lots of M&Ms embedding and other stuff like pretzels, peanut buttercups and a caramel lolly called “Sugar Daddy”. With a combination of sweet and salty ingredients, I would still say that the drink was still off-balance with overwhelming sweetness, especially if you were like me, who would not let those M&Ms go to waste. Talk about a crazy shaky sugar rush indeed.

It was a chance encounter with an all-natural turkey patty, but I was quite pleased with The Californian burger for its combination of ingredients, including Swiss cheese, diced avocado and truffle mayonnaise. Even though I did not get to pick up the burger with my hands because the bottom bun was already a little soggy, I was enjoying some theatrical effect of the patty bursting some jus from some knifework.

The waiter explained that this burger was an improved version from its initial appearance, as customers had given feedback previously that the patty was too dry. Well, I would just say that the “dryness” was acceptable since it was turkey meat that we were talking about. Any juicier or fatter would only imply that the meat was not lean, wasn’t it?

Paying an extra S$3.00 to this S$23.00 dish was a great decision made. Not that I did not like their fries, but their four pieces of onion rings was literally a big deal. Having coated with batter that did not soften, it felt like eating some onion cookies that tasted good but did not appear to be an overload of calories.

The portion of the burger and fries was good. The thick beef patty was definitely juicy (we requested for medium doneness) and tender - sandwiched between nice fluffy buns. Its was simple but it was awesome.

A superior version of BK's mushroom swiss burger. Medium cooked beef patty topped with Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms and onions. This combi never fails.
