Good Morning!🌞 it’s midweek which of course (inevitably....) calls for a celebration 🍾 WOOPWOOP!! We’ve all survived half the week (almost!) now.. have you tried Frog Porridge 🐸? It’s texture is very similar to chicken except a lot lot lot LOT LOOOOOTTTT more tender and if you’re a fellow westie, here’s a stall that does it real well! (As recommended by @foodkingnoc 😏)

Featured in frame is their Claypot Dried Chilli Frog ($7 for single portion), and if you add a pot of claypot porridge is +$1.50 otherwise it’s $0.50 for a bowl of porridge 🤗 Think flavourful and well marinated frog, coated with a layer of bubbling and piping hot sauce 🤤

West siders rejoice! You don’t have to travel far to get to have nice comforting frog porridge. The frog leg here is tender, while the kong bao sauce (gravy) is spicy yet flavourful. Shiok!

Rainy days call for a need of hot comfort food and I am so glad that I no longer need to travel all the way just to get belly comforting frog Porridge!

There are 2 choices of having the claypot frogs cooked: the spicy dried chili (宫保) style or the non-spicy ginger and spring onion (姜葱) style. Had the dried chili one which got really spicy because of the many dried chili seeds in the pot. I wasn't expecting the thick copious gravy that had the 4 frogs swimming in but surprisingly it really marinated the frogs well, except that it got a little too salty. The frogs were also conveniently chopped into smaller pieces and cooked till really soft.

We had the porridge served separately. Having some sesame oil added to porridge is always an awesome idea for making bland porridge more appetizing like this one. Rumor has it that oats were spotted in the porridge previously but I haven't seen any this time.

Each live frog is prepared upon order, which explains the great texture of the cooked flesh. Available in spicy (kungpao) or non spicy (spring onion and ginger) variants, a pot of frog meat and congee is a fitting source of comfort after a long weary day at work, or simply a awesome yet inexpensive meal with family. For the squeamish, the stall also offers dishes like pork slices, pig's liver and spare parts. You do not need to wait for a rainy day to eat at this stall - all you need is an empty stomach. #burpple #burpplebestofjurong

The warm sticky porridge that came with it was so good!! Totally satisfied! They had great porridge and frog legs(not the best but good enough)! The only critic I have is the portions. I want more froggies! Great supper especially on a cold rainy night :)

Really love the sauce that carries a slight spiciness! Add $1.00 for the porridge! A true hidden gem!
