Perhaps this would be the most insane waiting time I ever have for a plate of carrot cake. I came here at 6:20am, even before they open at 6:30am and thereโs already a few people waiting to order.
I made my order right at 6:30am and was told the waiting time would be 1.5 hours! Thatโs crazy even coming in early morning.
I see thereโs lots of order for takeaway as you see them packing it bag by bag. I literally waited from dark until the sun rise.
Finally at 7:52am I gotten my order! I was so excited by just looking at those cai po given on my plate. I could say the portion definitely very generous and actually good for 2 people to share.
I added the prawn for $5 which given another good texture and taste to the carrot cake. It is definitely worth the wait and know why so many people would want to wait even it is so long.
Love the crispy exterior of the carrot cake, topped with generous chye poh thatโs enough for every bite. Ordered 2x $3 plates for 3pax and the serving is just right. The 1 hour wait in the hot coffeeshop is a turn off, will be back only when I deeply crave for it.

Yishun is a bastion of diversity โ home to cat murderers, inter-dimensional wormholes and crazy people... If you class people who'd queue 30 mins for carrot cake as "crazy".

Waiting time goes from 30 mins to 1 hour, but it's worth a try. Their ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ($4) was an outstanding rendition with a substantially crispy and eggy exterior which blanketed the moist but fluffy innards. It's supplemented with a lavish heap of cai poh that gave it a further sweet-savoury punch, but nothing too overwhelming. Plus, portions were generous, even with takeaway! Maybe my favourite stall in the hood.

The portion my plate of carrot cake is pretty huge for $3! I thought the stall has made a mistake and had given me the $4 plate instead. I double checked with the auntie and she confirmed that it is indeed my order.
.
The generous portion can actually be shared among two persons which is totally value for money!

For those who can brave the 1-2 hrs wait, this is some legit, well fried carrot cake. Each piece is coated with a generous amount of egg and the chye poh and chilli complement the dish really well. They say once you go black, you canโt go back. Well, not in this case for me.
