I love scallion oil noodles so I was looking forward to popping by here after seeing Burppler Michelle’s post on it! Really enjoyed the chewy noodles tossed in fragrant scallion oil. Unlike some I’ve had, I liked that Chu Niang’s didn’t leave that layer of greasiness. Was a simple and affordable dish done nicely!

I can imagine how long queues might soon form at this stall .....

A newly opened family run stall specialising in xiao Long bao , dumplings and hand pulled noodles and rou jia mo ( Chinese crepe with braised pork fillings )

The simplest things are usually the best .
Chewy hand pulled noodles , scallion oil and crisped julienned ginger strands tossed in homemade chilli .

This is love at first sight ( taste ) .

Tried a new Hokkien Mee stall at the only coffeeshop at Blk 727 Ang Mo Kio. Ordered the 5 dollar portion. What i am most impressed with this Hokkien Mee is the generous amount of ingredients! It is so hard to find a Hokkien Mee that serves such decent size ingredients. Just look at the pork slices. It is of decent size and quantity. Not to mention the prawn stock is not bland as well. But i feel the chilli can be more on the sweet side. But that is just my personal preference. Overall, a 4/5 rating!

For affordable western food of reasonable quality, Aston seems to be the name that would be within the list and it does satisfy the cravings we have. Well, you can't ask for more at the price it is but it truly suffices.
