After reading more about it though, I realized this isn't your typical single-shop roaster operation. It's taken on lots of venture capital & has expanded to more than a dozen cafés in Oakland, San Francisco, New York, Brooklyn & LA. It has recently acquired other coffee businesses & is looking at overseas roasting facilities. It has also become famous for its iced coffee which can be found in many grocery stores. Instead of bottling it in glass like other regular cafés, it treats its coffee like milk, packing it in box cartons (as shown in pic). I'm not sure about you, but it sure sounds like an artisan business going mainstream to me. It's located in Gotham Market, a market concept similar to our Marche back home - 1 main area with multiple eateries.
