From the Burpple community

The french toast was really different from the typical ones! The only downside is that I don’t think the bread was fried in eggs? At least that’s what I expect french toast to be. Otherwise, the jam was really good and they were generous when it came to the toppings.

Be warned that the place can get really warm and humid!

Saw the photos posted by others in Burpple. Told myself “must try”. When the food came, I was still surprised. Very very generous toppings. And the spilt jam... genius. Taste was good too.

I think I have found my favourite place for Mac & Cheese! You know how there’s a delicate balance between a Mac & Cheese that is awesome and one that gets overwhelmingly cloying after every bite? The one here belongs in the former category. I would gladly slurp up the entire bowl by myself ◡̈ The Chicken Schnitzel here was pretty good as well. I like that it wasn’t too dry and that the portion it came in was huge!

Would definitely come back again, probably on the weekends, to try the brunch menu here

Botanist serves a hearty breakfast at a very very reasonable price. This came at 23 bucks(no GST or service charge) and it even came with a full small bottle of jam. Enjoyed the scrambled eggs and toast but felt that the rest was so so. The bacon was quite salty for me. Having said that I would return to botanist for the portions and reasonable price.

Service was good but another point they could improve on was the timing they served the food. All our mains and brioche came at around same time (when we intended for the brioche to be dessert since it came with ice cream) so could have timed it to come a little later.

Super creative dish which is a tad too sweet but I LOVE THE CINAMMON TASTE TO THE TOAST!!!!!! reminds me of the cinammon pretzel I always get at Wetzel Pretzels *inserts non-existent pretzel emoji*

Creatively named, the Botanist Breakfast ($23) comes with every imaginable breakfast item. Toast, grilled corn, juicy fried sausages, creamy avo, hash browns, baked beans, cherry tomatoes, thick slabs of salty bacon, sautéed mushroom and eggs the way you like. Unhealthy? Yes but the happiness more than makes up for it. •

⚖️: Will def return! It gets super crowded on weekends so plan accordingly. Finish the experience with a food coma fuelled traipse to Apiary for life changing ice cream.
