Drop by this cafe for affordable, tasty brunch at One North. The Shakshuka ($14) is a hearty dish of Salsicca pork sausages in a sauce of red peppers and tomatoes, topped with feta cheese, parsley and two eggs. You will also enjoy the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict ($14) doused in a delectable combination of hollandaise and peri-peri sauce.

Got the pulled pork eggs benedict ($14) too! Thought the Hokkaido brioche could have been lighter, but the pulled pork was richly flavoured and tender. The poached eggs were pretty well done with a runny yolk :-) The pinto beans and salad offset the heaviness of the dish!

Perhaps I’ve been spoiled by other bowl joints, but the salmon furikake bowl ($14) fell flat for me. The brown rice base was hard and dry, with a small portion of tomatoes, mushrooms and broccoli. The salmon was well seasoned but a little over cooked and thus hard, not at all moist like you’d expect salmon to be!

I didn’t manage to catch which supplier Bread Yard sources its beans from, but trust me when I say the coffee is really good! We tried both the Brazil (nutty with hints of chocolate) and Guatemala (fruity with floral notes) beans in an 8oz flat white ($4.50). Personally prefer darker roasts so the first was a bigger hit for me!

Bread Yard is hands-down one of the best places for affordable bakes!! Their pistachio chocolate tart ($4.50) is my favourite - a buttery, crumbly crust encasing rich chocolate fudge. I could do with more pistachio (lends a hint of saltiness for dimension!) but no complaints for the price and ambience.

Paid only $6 for this grain bowl! Super worth it after 50% Eatigo, or 1 for 1 on Burpple Beyond.

Best part of this bowl was the bread stick that tasted kinda like all the crispy parts of a croissant rolled together. HEAVENLY.

Rest of the dish was pretty good but nothing special.

My only criticism would be - this wasn’t really filling so if you have a good appetite like me, this won’t make you feel full but it’s enough to keep you sated till your next meal. Basically it’s healthy la. Portion control lmao

I was a bit freaked out by the pinkness of the chicken, but I was reassured by the staff there that it’s just due to the grilling method. So all you hypochondriacs take note ok
