Bugis street Hokkien prawn mee

At the same coffee shop which houses the blue pea kampung nasi lemak is this hidden humble stall that sells a variety of local delicacies .

I saw regulars coming back for her Hokkien prawn mee so I went in for the queue . Helmed by a petite lady whom is so friendly and warm .

Extremely tasty with umamific prawn flavour , not greasy, extremely fresh prawns and sotong ( not crystal ones by the way ... ) , well cooked noodles ( without the alkaline taste and accompanied with an extremely good homemade sambal Belachan.
Those small gems of pork lard also added to the party .

Huge portions for 4.50 .

Such a hidden gem that is so good - even better that some acclaimed Hokkien prawn mee stalls ....

This stall also does a mean yam abacus seed stir fry and fried black / white carrot cake.

Will be coming back for more .

It's ok.

Feels damn jelak after eating.

Overall so so.

A bit on the expensive side but chicken was well cooked and tender! Love the garlic as usual!

Enjoyed this, will be one of my go-to options when I'm here again! Looks like a small bowl but surprisingly filling 👍

From Thai Luck Cuisine within the coffeeshop. Fried chicken came with more batter than chicken, though wasn't really much of a bother. Wished that they could fry in more garlic for more flavour here, and it would really be good if the egg yolk could be runny. Tom Yum soup was surprisingly good, and works for those who prefers a tangier and bright tasting soup without too much spiciness. Not the best out there, but definitely value-for-money at $6.

Probably one that should be given a miss. Served HK-style, the Chee Cheong Fun felt a tad thick and carried a flour-y flavour of the local variant. The rather bland soy sauce and the lacklustre prawns just added up to the disappointment .
