What a disappointment. I went there with my family expecting a wide variety of food to enjoy and relax, but was utterly disappointed with the poor service and Low quality food items. We started with the seafood selection, and items such as the cray fish (1serving) only had 1 single crayfish. Therefore, we had to order multiple servings in order for the whole family to have a taste. The tempura - don’t order it immediately as it was cold and was probably prepared very early on. My family had also initially ordered 1 serving of teppanyaki to share, but realised the portion was extremely small, so we ordered 4 portions subsequently, which was meant for the whole family to share. The waiter then approached our table and asked to double check if we indeed ordered 4 portions in a rude way and was also giving us dirty looks as well and was clearly unhappy to prepare it for us. Other times such as the beef satay only had 3 pieces in 1 serving so it was difficult to share if the whole family wanted to have a try. Each person could only order 4 items, so if you wanted multiple servings of the same item, it would mean that the order would consist of only a few selections with multiple Servings. Eg. A family could order 4 servings of satay, teppanyaki, soup, rice. Therefore it is very difficult to try many items in the menu. Unless of course you are thick skinned and order multiple times - which will cause the waiter and chefs to give you dirty looks as well. For dessert, don’t even get me started on the size of the cake, the fruit bowl was the same size as the bowl used to serve a single scoops of ice cream and the sizes of the fruits such as the watermelon was cut into size of a single grape as well. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience for the whole family. Would not recommend if you are going with a large family. Actually, would not recommend at all. Understand that the COVID-19 pandemic had caused a lot of disruption to the f&b sector and I fully emphasise and want to support them by visiting the f&b outlets and ordering food from the many eateries, but such poor service really sets me off. As much as I want to support the f&b industry and this particular restaurant, I also want to warn the potential customers not to waste their hard earned dollars here.

Buffet Town’s Friday-Sunday dinner buffet is about $50 including all the plus plus-es, which is considerably cheaper than most hotel buffets out there. Still, this buffet’s only really worth it if you smash nothing but the oysters & sashimi. Everything else is either painfully pedestrian, or just substandard.

Okay fine, the tempura’s actually surprisingly stellar. Most of the grease has drained out of the prawn & pooled at the bottom of the basket, so you’re left with a crisp and relatively oil-light tempura. It’s oddly sweet, but it’s subtle enough to look the other way on. The lobster bisque ain’t too shabby either, with a nice briny flavour & and a subtle sweetness to flavour the restrained creaminess, but yeah.

Yeah nah mate, I ain’t shellin’ out fiddy for this again tbh fam.

A great variety of delicacies at a very affordable price.

Buffet Town at the basement of Raffles City Shopping Centre offers 300 buffet items over 29 categories. Besides Seafood on Ice, Japanese, Mediterranean and Western food, there are also many local iconic dishes available such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Chilli Crab and Village Style Assorted Satay. No.

Actually, I started this post with “worth a try” because Buffet Town really has a decent variety and it’s not too pricey ($40 for weekend lunch). But after reviewing all the food, I figured that you should spend your money elsewhere.

Perhaps it’s because of its variety and price, Buffet Town attracts bargain hunters – people who have that “kiasu” attitude and won’t hesitate to cut your queues and take more than what they need. This, together with the subpar food quality, greatly affected my dining experience.
