Thought it used to taste better. Still a decent plate of CKT.

This stall (Lee Soon Lee) is manned by a friendly couple. Mee siam has the right level of sourness and I feel like eating more after finishing the entire bowl.

Their standard nasi lemak comes with omelette, ikan bilis, luncheon meat, chicken wing and I added otak to complete the experience. The lemak rice paired nicely with the chilli making it a very satisfying plate of Nasi lemak.

There’s some dishes on display where you can add on to your dishes. I saw spring rolls, ngoh hiang, stir fry long bean etc.

This wasn't great, but for the novelty by a young hawker, it's sad it's shut down. Yes, there were fried wantons, char siew, pork ribs and ajitama. Problem was they were generally lame, including the noodles. I hope the hawker hasn't given up though!

The fried kway Teoh is yummy. Wok hey is just niceeee. Aunty will ask u want spicy or not. The spicy is just sweet spicy taste.
The price for small is 3 dollars. Large one is 4 dollars.
Long queue sia. So be patient to wait for this nice food.

At Bukit Merah Central Food Centre (block 163), you have the option of getting a tray or not - I personally think a tray is a good idea for soupy meals. Just remember to return your tray at the designated points to get your deposit back!

πŸ“Ά Interesting to note that, surprisingly, there is WiFi here, thanks to Wireless@SG

I'll always patronise their sliced fish bee hoon whenever im at the bukit merah area. Their soup were tasty and their sliced fish meats were thick and chewy at the same time! Im heading there real soon again for a bowl of this!

Name of stall: Gold Fish
Price:$4

The caifan stall with the longest queue. Like caifan at other hawker centres, the popularity makes no sense. Curry was mediocre and meat was minimal.

First the crowd, then the queue, and before the last few slurps are over, you have someone else eyeing your seat. On top of that, food quality isn’t great.

So it’s back to basics. At Bukit Merah - Good old piping hot Mee Soto with extra chilli 🌢! Coupled with bandung! Under the cool fan, devouring at MY pace! And it’s colourful too!

One of the cheapest ytf I have ever eaten. Not only is each piece huge, it is also freshly fried or stuffed with generous amount of fish paste. Try to go early to be at the lunch crowd as the waiting time can get as long as 30minutes!

Best long queue fish soup. There's a few stalls selling fish soup here. This is the better one and it sells out as early as 1pm on weekdays!

We dropped by this afternoon to order a takeaway of half chicken, eggs, Char Siu and rice! If you are dining there, each plate cost only $3-$4 with generous servings of succulent Soy sauce chicken and chicken rice! The chicken is very tender and juicy, and it doesn’t have a layer of fats underneath the skin. The rice grains is very fragrant and fluffy, not too oily for our liking! Savoury braised sauce is perfect, not too sweet, salty and thick, goes so well with their Soy sauce chicken, fragrant chicken rice and their πŸ”₯ Chilli sauce! So comfy and it really satisfy our soy chicken cravings fix!β €
