It was almost a month long wait before I managed to get my hands on these babies from none other than @burntends.bakery.sg ! I just knew I had to order two boxes even though I have not even tried them - especially considering the limited open slots that stretched to a month later!

The flavours of the assorted doughnuts box are:
◾Vanilla Cream
◾Milo Dinosaur (Aug/Sept Special)
◾Lemon Meringue

Now these were just so good, it was hard to stop at just one. Soft, fluffy and filled to the T with delectable cream and fillings - dang I'm already thinking of getting more. While their flavours aren't the whacky compared to other bombolini stores - they're still really good.

My favourite has to be Pandan - topped coconut glaze, desiccated coconut and filled with a kaya-like pandan cream. Oh lawd. Their Lemon Meringue came a close second which is a no-brainer as it's one of my all-time favourite flavours.

They have since announced that they're moving to a bigger location and I'm definitely looking forward to see what else Burnt Ends Bakery will have in store!

Now if only I could get a reservation for the coveted restaurant that is @burntends.sg itself!

The dough part of the donuts were quite soft and fluffy, not greasy and not too heavy on the palate. It's good but not super mindblowing :x It's quite on par with puffsandpeaks/sourbombe in terms of dough fluffiness. Also, we had some leftovers after refrigerating and they didn't dry out! They were still rather soft after sitting out in room temp.

Flavour ratings:
• Best: 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞 - lemon curd filling was very light, it kinda melts in your mouth, and has a sour sweet balance. Meringue wasn’t overly sweet!
• 2nd best: 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧 - the filling has a pleasant pandan fragrance, it’s very much like kaya except this is pandan cream, so it's essentially nice kaya without the coconuttiness. My parents liked this best! It's not too sweet, and there’s some desiccated coconut topping + coconut glaze which gives a bit of a coconut flavour.
• 3rd: 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐨 - has a distinct milo taste and it was sweet but not extremely sweet which I had expected. it’s a bit runny but tasted quite gao, and most importantly doesn’t get cloying the way nutella does.
• Did not like: 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 - altho the flavour was nice, the texture of the cream (is it creme pat??) was meh :( It was too floury and eggy, would have preferred a smoother, lighter cream. it's slightlyy nicer after refrigerating! It was still thick but tasted less floury.
• Too sweet as expected: 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 - they were generous w it so we had to scrape some off bc nutella naturally is too rich and cloying :/ I think this is nutella straight from the jar and into the donut; I'm naturally not too keen on nutella (it's a sugar bomb!!) so yeah I wouldn't have gotten this if it weren't in the set.

TLDR: lemon, pandan worth reordering, milo can try once. not a fan of vanilla and nutella. This is more enjoyable than sourbombe, and on par with puffandpeaks!

This has got to be the fluffiest, tallest focaccia I’ve had! Smelt super fragrant, but the taste wasn’t as strong as the smell. Still tasted quite nice though, I enjoyed the herb and onion flavours, as well as the texture of the focaccia - loved the even, open crumb. Actually enjoyed this more than the donuts, I think it was also because the donuts were very hyped up so I had expected more :p

@burntends.bakery_sg sell these in half a dozen/ dozen so the real reason why we all need friends : to share the calories😛

Finally tried these fluffy doughnuts, very generous with the fillings (a good mess!) and I liked that it’s not greasy and generally not too cloying even with the coating of sugar. Passionfruit curd was definitely my favourite with that slight tang! Nutella was expectedly rich while vanilla was rather mild. They’re currently having a mixed flavours box (really wanted to try milo Dino, lemon meringue and pandan!)

The brown butter chocolate chip cookies which were decent, liked the brown butter fragrance but it was a tad sweet. Also got the Gruyere cheese & scallion scones - crusty top while the insides were moist and fluffy, usually not a fan of scallion but we really enjoyed this savoury option.

Plumped up with toothsome pandan coconut cream, Burnt Ends Bakery’s Pandan Doughnuts ($24 /Half-Dozen) were fragrant and flavourful. And to say they are rich may be an understatement as the smooth luscious filling was pretty intense - the taste of coconut and pandan coming across very prominently in the bake. The dough, on the other hand, was supple and fluffy which was a nice balance to the heavy kaya. Glazed with coconut and embellished with desiccated coconut, these brioche doughnuts were a treat.

Found these Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies a tad too sweet so I’d skip them in future orders.
