Enjoy the Burpple’s one for one promotion before it end this month. I really like their pork rib which was so juicy. $16.40

The pork belly was so good!!! The noodles and the soup too!! Not the best, but for the 1-1 promotion, TOTALLY worth it!!! Tried the char siu one before, didn't like it. But the black garlic soup is good too 👍

No visit to Buta Ramen would be complete without having these fall-off-the-bone ribs. Cooked sous vide and then flame-torched for that smokey finish, you can choose to have this with one of their hearty ramens or in a rice bowl!
Preferred this much more than the grilled belly.

From broth that’s made fresh daily, to custom blend sauces and long chats over lots of beer, you would be very satisfied here.
My personal favorites are the Beer Belly ramen and the Shoyu ramen. Sapporo beer is added to the stock of the Beer Belly ramen for an interesting malty taste, that I really enjoyed! The Shoyu ramen had a broth that went in the opposite direction - super clean tasting, while still maintaining a strong, rich flavor without the cloudy, fatty goodness from the regular broth. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
Many thanks to Chris and Burpple for the invite. #burpple #butaramensg

What a surprising dish to find at a ramen shop! But this is exactly what they mean when they say this Ramen joint run by 3 Singaporeans does not pretend to be Japanese despite their clear niche. Dishing out bowls of ramen that has been tweaked to the local tastebuds, they’ve come up with items that aren’t quite your typical jap but nonetheless retain their perfectionist standards. Their signature sous vide flame-grilled kokuni pork belly sandwiched between mantous is a twist on a traditional Chinese dish, and boy, the result is spectacular!

One of Buta Ramen’s owners is a huge beer-lover, and perhaps that’s how this dish came about! This premium ramen is made from a rich tonkotsu broth and what they call a “healthy dose of Sapporo beer”. Everything in moderation, I guess you can’t dispute that! Plus it lends such an amazing breath of malty flavor that adds a whole new dimension to the umami-laden broth. The icing on top of the cake, a long slab of flame-grilled, almost melt-in-your-mouth yakitori pork belly. *slurps*

I love ramen, but I do feel that it can be a bit too heavy/“gao” sometimes. For those who have that same emotional conflict as me, the Shoyu Chashu Ramen is a great option to go for, with its clear, light soy sauce pork broth that is a nice contrast to the rest of its soup bases which tend to be a bit creamier. You might detect hints of spices in it, thanks to the fragrant, floral notes of the sansho pepper oil in the broth. At Buta Ramen, you don’t get pathetic slivers of chashu that simply disappear into the bowl. The guys here are proud of their meats, and it shows in the two generously-portioned slabs of pork chashu which are sous vide for tenderness.

Known for being the only place that serves Japanese pork ribs with ramen, this signature item is a clear winner with its fall-off-the-bone texture and addictive sweet/savory marinade. I could not stop at just one, especially when it complemented the Sapporo beer on the side so well. Buta’s ramen broth is painstakingly made daily from scratch (no store-bought soup stock please!) and brewed for 8-10 hours before they dish it out into your bowls to be eaten. There are a tonne of other good things I could say about Buta, but I shall save that for another post. Located along an alley at China Square Central which is often bustling during lunch, it quietens down in the evenings which is a great respite from the revelry around that area. Thanks @burpple for the invite and Chris for your hospitality! #burpple #burppletastemaker

My first ramen bowl in Singapore and I'm hooked! The broth is warm and the right amount of salty and milky and extremely comforting! The pork so soft, it melts in your mouth! The seaweed is all yours - just the way you want it.. Crunchy also and later can be mixed with the broth!

This was SUPER satisfying and so filling! Portion of noddles is too much - Had this for lunch at 1 and I'm still not hungry at 7 pm!

Can't wait to come back for more! Have heard a lot about their pork ribs! #burpple #burpplesg #fareastsquare #cbdsg #downtownsg #singapore

A bit hard to find and so was not very crowded during lunch hours. It's no secret that their ribs are impressive so it's no surprise no one comes for the ramen, however they surprised me with their broth and garlic umami.

That being said, the boss ribs were really the bomb!!!! They are fully justified to call their ribs BOSS ribs. It's the epitome of teryaki glazed pork ribs, i actually cant imagine any way to improve it without changing what it is fundamentally. Almost melt in your mouth tender(cooked for 24 hrs by their own accord), incredibly juicy and smoky due to being flame licked, and the teriyaki glaze was also amazing. Nothing else needs to be said apart from it being teriyaki glazed pork ribs done right. It most certainly surpasses most mid-tier restaurants' renditions even. And with that price, what are you waiting for?

Show em who's boss!

Instead of the signature Boss Rib Ramen, I ordered and preferred the Black Garlic version which in comparison I felt had a more flavourful broth with the added fragrance of garlic and sesame oil. The noodles were well-cooked and so was the egg however the big boss was definitely the ribs. Slow-cooked and glazed with their in-house yakitori sauce, the tender flame-grilled pork ribs were pretty darn good with their tantalising smoky flavour.

The ramen was delicious and really is one of the best that I haven eaten:) if I have a chance I will come back back to try their rice:)

My mum tried the spicy version as she wanted everything to be spicy. But to be honest her threshold for taking spicy stuff was so high that this does not seem spicy to her at all. For me I found it alright for the first taste but it will get a little uncomfortable with more spoonfuls of the broth. The broth was alright with the chili but it is always better to try the original unless the spicy one is way way better! $14.90 (no extra charges)

Having heard rave reviews about the place I went for the ramen with relatively high expectations. The ribs were really good and intense, their in-house yakitori sauce along with the well cooked ribs were a perfect combination. The ramen was decent with a milky broth that is well balanced however not too much to my liking. The egg was alright, except that personally I like more flavorful ones. If I ever come back again I shall give their black garlic dry noodles a try! $13.90 (no extra charges)

I always come here to eat the boss rib ramen. The rib is soft and juicy. My friend tried on the chashu ramen and think it is so so only as too oily.

Ramen and broth here is nothing special - but the tender ribs with sweet yakitori sauce kinda saves the day

The Singaporean that I am got super curious about the daily long queues at Buta Ramen; so here's my first go at it. The Spicy Boss Rib Ramen ($14.90) was a bowl of well cooked noodles in a pretty decent tonkutsu broth, with a side of grilled pork ribs topped with yakitori sauce. With that quality at such a reasonable price I can see why it's so popular with the working crowd.

3 words: pork rib ramen. Go straight for their signature Boss Rib Ramen ($13.90) - superbly tender pork ribs slow-cooked for 24 hours, glazed with yakitori sauce and perfectly charred, served with a rich tonkotsu broth that's been cooked for 8 hours. For something a little different, try their Beer Belly Ramen ($18.90) that comes with a pork belly slice grilled in yakitori sauce and served in a tonkotsu broth made with Sapporo beer, or their Black Garlic Dry Ramen ($10.90). If you still have stomach, and can't get enough of their delicious pork belly, order their Grilled Kakuni Buns ($4.90 with every ramen order)!

Starring a long strip of melt-in-the-mouth pork belly glazed with caramelised yakitori sauce. Noms.
