Smooth iced white with a strong brew that was not too acidic.

Butler Koffee had came a long way — ever since their days being that mobile coffee cart that had found a permanent location at Kreta Ayer Road, all the way to sharing its space with Beng Who Cooks at Neil Road — Butler Koffee had finally found a home of its own at Havelock II pretty recently. Taking over the former premises of the now-defunct BREW’ Kopi & Beer, Butler Koffee is now a full-service cafe. The space has seen a different configuration in terms of its layout — the ordering counter is now located towards the right side toward the end of the shop space. Whilst trying to achieve somewhat of a minimalist approach, there are some bits of tasteful clutter all around — all that with chairs of various colours to help provide a bit of contrast that is pretty welcomed. Providing dine-in patrons with some form of simple food, Butler Koffee does serve up a small selection of toasties and croissant sandwiches to satisfy those whom are looking for hot food; pastries sourced from Keong Saik Bakery (as opposed to Nuage Patisseire & Boulangerie during their days at Beng Who Cooks) are also available. The range of beverages available at Butler Koffee is pretty much the same as what was being served previously; this includes the usual selection of specialty coffee, pour overs, as well as bottled cold brews and a small selection of tea as well.

There isn’t a particularly wide selection of food items served at Butler Koffee; having skimmed through the menu, we found ourselves leaning towards the Parma Ham & Cheese Toasties — also the priciest food item on the menu at Butler Koffee given its price of $10. The order also comes with cassava chips on the side. An interesting twist to the usual ham and cheese sandwich, the use of Parma Ham here instead of ordinary ham can be said as sprucing up the sandwich by using a premium ingredient — the Parma Ham gives the toastie a sort of savouriness that offers more dimension than the usual saltish notes of ham; a good pairing with the oozy melted cheese though we thought could have worked even better if paired with a mix of different cheeses for an extra oomph. The toastie itself on the outside was also pretty appealing; the exterior was sufficiently crisp as well. All in all, a pretty decent offering considering how it more or less qualifies as a light bite.

After sharing spaces with different tenants all these while, it is indeed heartwarming to see Butler Koffee having a space that is to their very own — they are still very much that humble coffee cart that they had started out from, but it is indeed interesting to see how they have expanded thus far. Whilst the food menu at Butler Koffee may seem a little limited at this current space, Butler Koffee is that little nook that certainly works best for that morning coffee run or that mid-day coffee break; a spot that works best to just have some peace away from all that hustle from work.

First time here. We ordered the truffle brocoli along with a cold brew and ice green tea. The drinks were decent but what's most memorable was the truffle brocoli! It was so well-seasoned and the brocolis were really tender. The texture almost reminds me of those fried brocoli you get at lok-loks.

It was so good! Will definetly come back for this. I'm tempted to cook them at home too ^_^ such a great alternative to truffle fries.

Was craving for some Mocha and this hits the spot! Butler Koffee boast a quiet ambience with very intimate feels, which I find is a good place that can hold conversations. Their Iced Mocha ($7.50) has a great balance of coffee and chocolate flavours and it is very smooth as well! The service is good too!

Checked out Butler Koffee’s newest digs at 39 Neil Road over the weekend; the coffee stand previously located at 333 Kreta Ayer Road had since moved into its new space which it shares with Beng Who Cooks. With their move to their new home, Beng Who Cooks/Butler Koffee now serves up a whole new brunch menu, and also does carry bakes from Nuage Patisserie is located at Kampong Bahru.

With the brunch menu comprising mostly of Tartines (or open-faced sandwiches, if you may), there is also a Tarter Puff and a Legendary Mushroom Soup being listed in the menu here. We found ourselves going for the Crab Tartine — the item features sourdough, mayonnaise, blue swimmer crab with mustard grain and salad. As much as how basic the item may look on first sight, I liked how the Crab Tartine here is executed pretty well; pretty glad for how they used a good sourdough here that came with a fluffy centre and crusty exterior that gives quite a good bite — it also carried a tinge of tartness from the fermentation process of making the sourdough, which is pretty much the way I like my sourdough to be. Stacked above the sourdough will be the leafy salad that also comes with arugula; provides for a slight bitter note that surprisingly cuts through the umami sweetness from the shredded swimmer crab meat over it. Also liked how they are pretty generous with the crab meat here; enough to bring a burst of fresh crustacean sweetness for the dish. The mustard grains here was a thoughtful touch; gives the dish a hint of earthiness, while the slight douse of mayonnaise above adds that creaminess that gels all the different elements in the dish together without being at all overwhelming. All in all, a very well thought-out dish that attempts to touch on a variety of taste categories that is beautifully rounded off in one package.

It is collaborations like these where diners like us benefits the most — where notable establishments all come together to provide a wholesome experience from coffee to brunch to desserts all in a single seating from different merchants; it is indeed something that we sometimes take for granted. Rather than looking at it in entirety, perhaps it is better to just slow down, appreciate the creations of the various brands offered here and enjoy what each of them have to offer — that way, there will be a greater appreciation for each of the merchants for their craft; be it Butler Koffee’s expertise and knowledge on coffee, the details placed and execution of the food from Beng Who Cooks, or the dainty, yet delicate bakes from Nuage Patisserie, each has definitely got their own story to tell and worth a visit on their own.
