Butterknife Folk is known for their creative ice cream flavours and today, we decided to try one of their more special creations, the Butterscotch Miso flavour! Thankfully, the scoop of ice cream tastes a lot like the usual butterscotch ice cream, although it was slightly saltier and there were hints of the salty taste of miso soup. It was still pretty palatable and the pieces of chocolate chip studded into the scoop of ice cream added some sweetness to the dessert as well.

This is a premium flavour, so it costs 50 cents more and is priced at $6 with a cone! If you are not a fan of such original flavours, Butterknife Folk has more normal flavours such as pistachio and dark chocolate as well!

We went back to Butterknife Folk and we decided to order a more unique flavour - ondeh ondeh ice cream! Inspired by the kuehs made with pandan, gula melaka and coconut, this scoop of ice cream amalgamates the three ingredients into a sweet and cold treat. The scoop of ice cream is less heavy on the coconut, however, and the gula melaka taste was more pronounced! Really love it as it really reminds us of the actual ondeh ondeh. The scoop was also priced at $5.50 if you add on a cone.

We are always impressed by the ever-changing assortment of flavours at Butterknife Folk and today, we decided to try out the Freckles & Speckles flavour! Freckles & Speckles is basically a scoop of blue pea flower ice cream, dotted with bits of chocolate chips! Presumably, the speckles are the smaller chips while the freckles are the larger ones!

As blue pea flower itself doesn't have much taste, the gelato base just tastes milky with most of the flavour coming from the chocolate chips. The chips are rather bitter as dark chocolate is used. Nonetheless, it was still a very enjoyable flavour and we look forward to the other creative concoctions at Butterknife Folk!
