Café & Bar Gavroche

Following the runaway success of the less than one year old Brasserie Gavroche, Chef Patron Frederic Colin is delighted to unveil his second food © beverage venue. A new sibling to the Gavroche name, the latest establishment, aptly named Café & Bar Gavroche is located on 69 Tras Street, just across the brasserie. Taking root in a conservation shophouse, the new venue boasts 3 sections within. Upon entry, the first section showcases the main Bar area, replete with a 4.2m wooden bar originating from Normandy, pre World War II, circa 1920. Next is the indoor “Terrace” section, a natural light filled space with cobblestone flooring, fringed with an indoor tree. Fitted with Drucker wicker chairs and tables, a sense of an outdoor setting within is created, reminiscent of a typical Parisian Café – perfect for people watching. The final space features an intimate Dining area. Decked out with a long rustic wooden table and chairs, Opaline hanging lamps, a 300kg cast iron antique stove and wall-hung copper pots of varying sizes, this cosy alcove is already a firm favourite amongst groups of friends enhancing conviviality whilst imbibing.

We're always out hunting for some good cheese!
My girl and I usually head to Cafe Gavroche for their cheese platter and it has never disappointed us!! Hoping that my girl can come back real soon 💕

The Planche Mixte (SGD$36) is a delectable selection of cold cuts and French cheeses. I love to mix and match all the different types and try them with the bread they provide 🤤

We have tried their warm goat cheese and fresh raw oysters too, pretty much up to our standards as well!

Satisfaction :🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤
Price: usually $30 per pax

Classic French Beef stew loaded with various root vegetables. Beef chunks slow braised in a heavily reduced red wine broth till they're fork tender and till the tendons turn a lovely gelatinous clump.
Served with lightly dressed Mesclun Salad and Sourdough to mop up that hearty braised jus.

Fresh from the ovens, delivered oozing liquid gold.
We requested for a side of jam, they obliged and returned a portion of White Fig Compote which went along perfectly with the oozy warm cheese.

An authentic Parisian cafe vibe made larger than life by its equally Parisian bites like this smoked duck magret on top of toast smeared with fresh goat cheese. Pricey ($18) but totally worth it.

It looks simple, but bread is baked moderately,so it's smelled very nice. The eggs and tomatoes combination also nice, more than anything sauce is the most important factor I think. I don't know how to make the sauce, fresh and sourish taste is suitable for the tomatoes.

This is the most delicious croque-madame I have ever eaten. Silent and sunlight atmosphere, free wifi, it's suitable for a wonderful holiday.
