Been wanting to try Muji Cafe for a while now and I finally got to try it with my friend! My main from the hot deli was slow-cooked chicken leg with tomato dashi broth, and the cold deli dishes I got were prawn couscous salad with yuzu-sesame dressing and mushroom salad. My friend and I also got a cup of hot chai to share 😌

I’ve heard people calling it expensive/atas 菜饭 (mixed rice) before so I didn’t have much expectations initially but I actually really like it! 🤩 I truly enjoyed all the items I ordered and it felt kinda like a wholesome home-cooked experience - very healthy and natural/organic! The chicken leg, in particular, was so tender and well-marinated.

Enjoyed eating in the Muji setting too because everything felt so minimalistic and clean-cut ☺️

I guess the 菜饭 comparison is kinda true, but I’d say this feels more like the Japanese set meal experience 😛 Will gladly come back again.

Whenever I feel like splurging on a meal at Muji, I always make a beeline for the Sakura Chicken with Curry Miso and Dried Chilli ($18.90 for a Jewel set). I swear it tastes like a milder salted egg chicken. Anyone else share the same sentiment?

I also get the exact same Cold Deli sides every time: Prawn Couscous Salad with Yuzu-sesame Dressing and the Duo Apple Kale Salad, Maple White Wine Vinegar Dressing. The latter even has cranberries, hazelnuts and chestnuts tossed into the mix – very autumnal.

Matcha soft serve wasn’t particularly intense like I would have liked it but I was glad that it wasn’t too sweet! There was a single shot of kuromitsu (Japanese black honey) at the side which I had fun squeezing in. The almond slices also provided a contrasting crunch to the soft serve.

I was here on a weekday evening and the cafe was nice and quiet. There are comfy sofas for bigger groups to chill too!

Make it count for Sunday treat with this treat. Of our total dining experiences at Cafe & Meal Muji, this Set wins against other sets. Maybe because we are obsessed with green tea. Green tea iced drink, green tea cheesecake and sesame ice cream tick all the right box!! 🌟

Brewed from Okinawan & Srilankan black tea leaves. It is a refreshing drink that complements well with our cold deli.

The ingredients in this cold deli (the above including capsicum) are well coated with not so sweet balsamic sesame dressing. This small dish is quite good as a small main before flight.👌
