Cookie Butter Jelly Donut - $3.60

Uniquely shaped. Cookie butter spread across the top, filled with raspberry jelly within. Finally, donut is topped with spice cookie crumble. Consider this sweet treat when you order their yummy sandwiches

Type: Cafe

Dropped by for a short rest, and got myself a Hojicha latte (iced $7.02) This place is quiet and a nice place to chill! However, the drink was pretty diluted in my opinion (weak hojicha flavor) and not cheap too! They were preparing some grab orders after I sat down and ordered, but I think they do it behind the counter (sort of like open kitchen) so the place smelled of food :(

My rating: 2/5 ⭐️

Spam Bam (S$11+)
paprika egg mayo, scallions, crisp spam, jalapenos, baby spinach
In Garlic Chye Poh bread
The spam was overwhelmingly salty. Overwhelmingly drowning other components of the sammie. Only could manage to finish half of it after drowning the cup of plain water and latte.

Hojicha Latte (S$4.50+)

Healthy wholesome sandwiches from @caffepraletsg come with a choice of in-house made bread such as Multigrain Sourdough, Sunflower Seed Sourdough, French Butter Croissant and interestingly Garlic Chye Poh Sourdough

With SEVEN options to choose from (including vegetarian), I went for their
* Signature Har Jeong Gai ($14). A thick juicy piece of prawn paste marinated chicken, coated with sweet chilli and fried egg. Strongly recommend having it with their Garlic Chye Poh Sourdough bread.
* Battered Fish & Paprika Egg Mayo ($13). Fried fish fillet slaughter on a thick layer of creamy egg mayo, and accompanied with Sunflower Seed Sourdough
* Chipotle Fried Chicken ($13). Signature fried chicken and chipotle pesto with Multigrain Sourdough.

🥪 Battered Fish and Paprika with Sunflower seed sourdough

My fav is the har jeong gai, the chilli not spicy and not too sweet,  and the taste balance, none is overpowering.
And I like all their sourdough bread (baked freshly everyday)
FYI: they sell the bread separately.

Beside the sandwiches, they also sell Assortment of Sourdough Brioche Doughnuts ($23 for 6), and cakes likes Signature Pralet and Sugarfree Kueh Sarlat.

Delivery is free above $120 or within 3km, they are all delivery platform (Grab, Foodpanda and Deliveroo)

Not the prettiest of cross sections (I blame P2HA and disposable cutleries), but don’t let that take away from how amazing this Signature Har Jeong Gai ($14) sandwich was. The fried chicken was juicy and tender (albeit a lil soggy cause of the whole takeaway circumstances), the prawn paste marinade fragrant and discernible. Now I like very punchy and aggressive flavours so I’d say they can afford to be more heavy-handed, but that’s not to say it was tasty as it is. Very well-executed in fact, I was very pleasantly surprised. The sweet chilli sauce was commendable as well: sweet enough and not one-dimensionally so, nicely balancing out the fried chicken. Kick up the spice a notch and it’d be perfect. What I loved the most however, was their chye poh sourdough — our bread of choice. It’s kinda like a super savoury and umami a sourdough focaccia with a great crust and soft, fuwa fuwa insides. It’s a shame I couldn’t taste actual bits of chye poh in there, or else I’d buy loaves of this back immediately.

Good coffee, smooth and not acidic, with decent caffeinating power. The blend is by Sarnies.

With nice decor. Even tho the location seems out of the way, it was pretty crowded for lunch. Students get to enjoy #studentdiscounts here as well. #throwback to the Farewell Lunch for @this_is_pris_ and @natalyaalison. So sad so many ppl leave 😭

The set is SO worth it!! Only available at around 2pm onwards tho I think. The ondeh ondeh cake was not bad, though it was nothing special - the cake layers could be fluffier and more moist. And they offer gryphon tea!!

Went out and tried the mentaiko battered fish bowl for lunch ($12) the bowl came with battered fish, mentaiko cream sauce, jap rice (customisable), furikake pumpkin and tri coloured slaw. I really liked the slaw it was tangy and cut down the richness from the fish and cream sauce. The mentaiko was not really prominent in the sauce however they were generous with the sauce. Other bowls pictured are the terriyaki chicken ($10) and bulgogi beef rib ($12)
We added a set (+$7) for a drink, soup and cake. Soursop and passionfruit was good with chunks of soursop in the drink. The soup was pumpkin soup, it was hearty however it may not be for those who dislike thick soups. The cake was the signature pralet cake (a rich chocolate cake) which was really really good but I suggest you have someone to share it with as it may be too rich for a single person to finish.
Truffle fries are truffle fries. ($10) Fries with truffle oil parmesan and garlic aioli. The fries were good and the truffle was spread throughout the whole serving. The garlic aioli tasted more like normal mayo though.

Taking inspiration from Singaporeans’ favourite Tze Char dish, the chicken patty is marinated in a rich prawn paste and deep-fried to golden brown. Encased between charcoal brioche buns with garlic mayo and sweet chilli sauce, the Har Jeong Gai Burger is a crowd favourite 🍔 .

Launch of new menu!
This bowl was really tasty with a beautiful blend of taste from the truffled shimeiji mushrooms and roasted sesame chicken. The 'citrusy' of the tomatos was a great enjoyment to balance the palate as well!

High tea set for a slice of cake and drink @ $8

Naturally, desserts are their forté especially the Signature Pralet Cake that had layers of creamy chocolate mousse and sponge resting on a hazelnut praline crunch bed and smeared with thick ganache - not surprising that the moderately indulgent dessert is a favourite. Customised cake designs are displayed around the cafe, and cookies, biscotti and spreads are also on retail.

It’s not purely a dessert parlour. Asian/Western/Fusion dishes form the crux of the menu, with items such as Seafood Tom Yum Pasta, ‘Hei Bi’ Aglio Olio, and featured here is my favourite amongst those we tried, the Satay Chicken Chop ($14). The char-grilled spiced chicken thigh was smothered with Indo-style satay sauce, supposedly sweeter than what we are used to. The rosti squares were certainly an ingenious substitute to fries or mash, I wouldn’t mind at all if I had a whole bowl of these crispy hash browns, with the satay sauce as a dip OHHHHHH 💡 moment here! Cucumber and pineapple that are common sides to local satay are now mixed as a salsa to alleviate the rich peanut gravy, an innovative move as well.
:
The mains are available at $10-$14, and drink/+cake/+soup can be added on at +$2/6/7, super decently priced. Caffe Pralet also hosts Sunday Brunch Buffets occasionally, with the next one coming up on the 27th November 11AM-3:30PM. There’s even a family package for 2 adults and 1 child at $60. The spread looks quite delectable from their Facebook photos.

My favourite was their signature Pralet cake with lovely feuilletine base and chocolate ganache. The cake texture was light with strong hazelnut flavour, making this an easy dessert to have after a fulfilling meal. The Lychee Martini would be another favourite if I'm not too full and am looking for a sweeter note to end my meal.

Caffe Pralet serves up pretty pocket-friendly all day breakfast and mains that comes with a unique fusion twist!

One of the dishes that stood out to us was their Hua Tiao Vongole ($14)! Once the dish hit the table, the waves of Hua Tiao (Chinese Wine) could be smelt and that thick broth of hua tiao & ginger definitely hits the spot. It reminded me of the broth that I usually get when I have XO fish head noodle soup. So calming and slurp-worthy! For all you clams lovers, the generous portions of clams definitely made it worth while!

Top up another $5 for a set meal and complete your meal with a drink & a dessert! Their range of desserts are all done in-house as well and I'd highly recommend their Pralet cake & Ebony & Ivory!
Much thanks to @burpple for inviting us & Selina from the team at @caffepraletsg for your hospitality!

Berries of the Forest: this dessert really is a thing of beauty, from the glossy outside to vibrant purple layers inside, the colours are eye-catching, and so are the intense taste of berries.
