Reviews of good food at Caffe Pralet By Creative Culinaire

Taking inspiration from Singaporeans’ favourite Tze Char dish, the chicken patty is marinated in a rich prawn paste and deep-fried to golden brown. Encased between charcoal brioche buns with garlic mayo and sweet chilli sauce, the Har Jeong Gai Burger is a crowd favourite 🍔 .

Launch of new menu!
This bowl was really tasty with a beautiful blend of taste from the truffled shimeiji mushrooms and roasted sesame chicken. The 'citrusy' of the tomatos was a great enjoyment to balance the palate as well!

High tea set for a slice of cake and drink @ $8

Naturally, desserts are their forté especially the Signature Pralet Cake that had layers of creamy chocolate mousse and sponge resting on a hazelnut praline crunch bed and smeared with thick ganache - not surprising that the moderately indulgent dessert is a favourite. Customised cake designs are displayed around the cafe, and cookies, biscotti and spreads are also on retail.

It’s not purely a dessert parlour. Asian/Western/Fusion dishes form the crux of the menu, with items such as Seafood Tom Yum Pasta, ‘Hei Bi’ Aglio Olio, and featured here is my favourite amongst those we tried, the Satay Chicken Chop ($14). The char-grilled spiced chicken thigh was smothered with Indo-style satay sauce, supposedly sweeter than what we are used to. The rosti squares were certainly an ingenious substitute to fries or mash, I wouldn’t mind at all if I had a whole bowl of these crispy hash browns, with the satay sauce as a dip OHHHHHH 💡 moment here! Cucumber and pineapple that are common sides to local satay are now mixed as a salsa to alleviate the rich peanut gravy, an innovative move as well.

The mains are available at $10-$14, and drink/+cake/+soup can be added on at +$2/6/7, super decently priced. Caffe Pralet also hosts Sunday Brunch Buffets occasionally, with the next one coming up on the 27th November 11AM-3:30PM. There’s even a family package for 2 adults and 1 child at $60. The spread looks quite delectable from their Facebook photos.

My favourite was their signature Pralet cake with lovely feuilletine base and chocolate ganache. The cake texture was light with strong hazelnut flavour, making this an easy dessert to have after a fulfilling meal. The Lychee Martini would be another favourite if I'm not too full and am looking for a sweeter note to end my meal.

Caffe Pralet serves up pretty pocket-friendly all day breakfast and mains that comes with a unique fusion twist!

One of the dishes that stood out to us was their Hua Tiao Vongole ($14)! Once the dish hit the table, the waves of Hua Tiao (Chinese Wine) could be smelt and that thick broth of hua tiao & ginger definitely hits the spot. It reminded me of the broth that I usually get when I have XO fish head noodle soup. So calming and slurp-worthy! For all you clams lovers, the generous portions of clams definitely made it worth while!

Top up another $5 for a set meal and complete your meal with a drink & a dessert! Their range of desserts are all done in-house as well and I'd highly recommend their Pralet cake & Ebony & Ivory!
Much thanks to @burpple for inviting us & Selina from the team at @caffepraletsg for your hospitality!

Berries of the Forest: this dessert really is a thing of beauty, from the glossy outside to vibrant purple layers inside, the colours are eye-catching, and so are the intense taste of berries.

We actually wanted to go to Ah Bong's Italian, but didn't know they open late on Sundays. Ordered the whole chicken (only $18!) to share with a friend. It was juicy and flavourful. You're given a choice of sides and sauce too. Best of all, no gst and service charge! So I only paid $9 for a filling and satisfying meal.

THE RED VELVET IS THE BEST! If you leave without trying it you will definitely regret it

The Tom Yum Spaghetti was definitely the best one!!! It's also at a reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

There was once I dreamt of having a cake buffet and too bad it was only a dream and I was so reluctant to wake up from that dream 😔☁️ This, is like a dream came true for me.
Thanks NOM'S and Caffe Pralet for hosting ☺️

Compared to the many flashy cafes in Singapore, Caffe Pralet is much underrated but it definitely has the potential to shine, a diamond in the rough. My favourite dish of the tasting was the Tom Yum Pasta ($10), which packs a punch (and kick) and in my opinion, one of the better tom yum pastas around. If you are unable to hold your hiamjio, please request for a less spicy option which the chef will gladly whip up a special order for you. Don't let the milky base fool you; the tanginess from the kaffir lime and spiciness from the tom yum base work hand-in-hand, partners in crime, to deliver a wake-up call to the unnoticed. My only improvement would be to add in more seafood such as squid and mussels to elevate and give it an even robust flavour. Overall, everything on the plate was well deserving of an applause as I went back spoon after spoon.

[$10] Attention to all hiamjio fans out there 🔥 This particular Tom Yum Pasta from @Caffepralet is one you shouldn't mess with if you can't take spicy! *Trust me, I almost Ko-ed*
Aside from the unbearable spiciness, I loved the fact that generous portion of prawns, which were really fresh & yummy, were given! I do hope they can add in more selections of seafood, increasing the variety of ingredients as I definitely wouldn't mind paying more! ☺️
Love this Thai-Western Fusion! 👍

Overall, IMO: 3.8/5 ♠️
