Cake O'Clock with Cake Spade’s fluffy Lychee Rose Cake and fudgey Biscoff Cookie Midnight Brownie. 

Diggin’ their pretty-in-pink 2-storey flagship cafe at the foot of Ann Siang Hill, I recall having their signature cheesecakes but this time I got the staff-recommended vanilla angelfood cake with lychee and rosewater cream which was perfect for an after-meal treat. Right up my alley, the slice was refreshing and light. The floral-y flavour of the rose wasn’t too in the face and balanced nicely with the sweetness of the fruit. The Biscoff Cookie Midnight Brownie, in contrast, was rich and chocolatey. Not dense or dry and none too sweet, it didn’t feel jelat in my opinion. There were bits of the caramel-y biscoff cookies studded in the bar too so that added some fun textures to the black cocoa brownie.

Cake Spade classic tofu cheesecake is the unbaked version. Golden Lychee version contains pineapple jelly and lychee. Love the generous portion of lychee. I also ordered a pot of Pink Flamingo Tea ($7.50) to pair with, which is Hibiscus green tea with fruity notes. Lovely dessert combination

Last on our table is this seasonal cake. A pandan chiffon cake with Mao Shan Wang durian pulp in between. Topped with desiccated coconut.

I enjoyed it as the taste equally balance between pandan and durian. Not too overwhelming with each other.

Beside level 1 seats, they have more seats upstair now as well.

Another cake on our table is this chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and rum-infused dark cherries. Topped with chocolate ganache, white chocolate ganache, chocolate dipped maraschino red cherries.

This cake contains gelatin and alcohol. So it taste sour in every bites of the chocolate cake.

A popular cake shop that recently moved from Tanjong Pagar to Chinatown area, continue to serve their signature cakes in a much spacious space.

I got the lychee rose cake, which is a vanilla cake with lychee and rosewater cream; topped with dehydrated rose petals, lychee and white chocolate crunch balls.
