We visited Rakki Bowl today intending to try the Truffle Beef Bowls, but sadly, luck wasn’t on our side and we were informed that the truffle bowl wasn’t available. However, this turned out to be a good time to try the coffee as there wasn’t an overpowering truffle smell assaulting our senses the whole time we were there.

The Cold Brew Mocha ($6.50) at Candour Coffee is simply perfect for a hot day. It’s smooth and incredibly easy to drink, with just the right amount of chocolate that you could taste the chocolate without it overpowering the whole drink.

It was a very nicely blended drink overall, however the coffee wasn’t that strong, so it would be nice as a cold drink to go with your meal but probably wouldn’t be effective as a caffeine boost midday.

Candour Coffee offers both hot and iced versions of their sea salt caramel latte. The iced version is slightly more expensive at $6.50, but is also eligible for redemption with Burpple Beyond. Unlike the hot version, the iced beverage is served with distinctive layers and requires some mixing for optimal enjoyment.

The iced version was really smooth and lovely to drink, especially on a hot day such as today. I actually enjoyed this more than the hot version, and could better appreciate the various subtle undertones in this drink. There’s a touch of saltiness with the slightly burnt aroma of the caramel, which mellows out the taste of the coffee. Overall, it’s a very pleasant drink - not strong enough to give you a caffeine boost, but good for a dose of sugar (yet it’s not overly sweet) or a beverage to cool you down on a sweltering day.
