With an aim of being a sustainable burger chain, the restaurant continues in introducing sustainable and wholesome choices with elevated flavours and quality. The newly launched Singapore-exclusive Grilled Beef & Double Mushroom Burger ($23) will be a mainstay in the menu and this creation is in collaboration with the chefs of Mirazur, the current No.1 restaurant on World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, the team is currently in Singapore for their pop-up residency. Using locally grown mushrooms to bring out the umami-ness, the shiitake and oyster mushrooms are cooked a la plancha in a garlic-parsley oil before adding the sweet roasted onions into the party. The burger is then constructed by adding a grilled antibiotic- and hormone-free grass-fed beef patty, cheddar, a smear of confit garlic mayo and pickled pearl onions, sandwiched between two brioche buns.

A limited time offering, the Crispy Fish Burger with Kimchi Slaw ($22) will also be available exclusively in the Singapore’s menu until 18 September. The Korean-Thai fusion inspired burger contains golden battered fresh snapper with tangy kimchi tartar, lime-coriander mayo, green mango for the added tanginess and organic greens. The burger can be ordered ala carte, buddy deal or a combo set for 2 ($69.80) that comes with two burgers, the must-order and not-to-be-missed Triple Cooked Agria Fries and fresh lemonade, with a sweet ending of Cinnamon Churros ($6.80). The churros are also a new addition into the menu that is made from scratch and fried to golden perfection before being coated with freshly-ground cinnamon. You can choose two dips between the house-made dulce de leche, dark chocolate, vanilla chantilly or lemon curd.

Carne had great marketing when I opened but my friend and I thought that the burger did not meet our expectations. Funnily enough, my favourite thing I tried there was their only dessert - the orange and chocolate sacher torte.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The orange and chocolate sacher torte had a great balance of flavours and very appealing textures! And I am a sucker for orange chocolate. It consists of single origin chocolate sachet torte, candied orange peel, toasted almonds, and artisanal orange gelato.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The gelato tastes light, yogurty, and doesn’t have a very concentrated orange flavour, and has has the consistency of a soft creamy sorbet. It sits in some sort of orangy custard that tastes a bit stronger than the gelato. It pairs well with the crunchy, fragrant toasted almonds and candied orange peels which surprisingly weren’t that intrusive. There were also orange slices inside too, but they didn’t add that much to the flavour.

The cubes of sacher torte were a bit more controversial. It's supposed to be a Viennese chocolate cake that is dry with a mild and light chocolate flavour, that’s served with some cream to mitigate the dryness. I don’t think I’ve tried it before, so I can’t profess whether it’s authentic or not. But this one had a cakey, floury texture, that tastes like the texture of a vegan bean brownie that’s somewhat fudgy, but overbearingly (a very specific texture, but can’t think of much else). My friend disliked the texture, but I thought it worked well with the other wet components.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Overall, it’s one of the more enjoyable desserts that I’ve had recently. But not sure if I’d come back just for this dessert and fries with their ketchup.

Life is a circle of pain and pleasure. If you’ve had a rough week at work, why not treat yourself to a heart attack-inducing grease bomb of a burger at Carne? The place prides itself for natural grass-fed beef. No options for done-ness here, but the 160g patty + bacon+ egg assembly will K you O. Loved the crunchy jackets/fluffy interiors of the Fries + house-made sauces.

Hand cut fries were truly amazing!! Super crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside. Really great textures and well seasoned.
Also got the grilled beef and double mushroom burgers, a-bit oily but so indulgent and savory!

Hmm.. Interesting milkshake - it had a very fluffy and airy mouthfeel to it. Not sure how I felt about it, it wasn’t the usual heavy milkshakes that we’re used to. It tasted like I drank a cup full of clouds and whipped cream. I personally didn’t enjoy it, I guess I’m a traditional milkshake sort of person. Perhaps the other flavours might taste a little more than simply whipped cream.

We visited on a weekday early afternoon and it was quite empty! The crowd came in during peak lunchtime and the seats filled up pretty quickly. Would recommend you to reserve seats if you want to guarantee your place here. Staff here were friendly and helpful.

Just your classic burger done right - natural grass-fed beef patty with oak lettuce, tomato and red onion, sandwiched between two fragrant butter buns. A no frills burger that hits all the right spots! Every ingredient here tasted very fresh.

We got this as part of a lunch set, where you get a burger and a drink for $15. It’s available on weekdays 11am to 6pm.

What we liked about the burgers here was that they were all very tasty without being greasy! Everything was very clean, fresh, and well executed.
