One of the best pairings of soup and rice is the salted vegetables soup with a bowl of braised yam rice. The version at Hon Kei Food Corner is done very well with the soup having a refreshing tangy flavour with the addition of minced pork and pork balls. The tomatoes also added a nice sweetness, all pairing well with the accompanying yam rice. The best kind of foods that you will want to eat when the weather turns cold.

One of the popular seafood restaurants you can find in Jelutong, Penang.

You can ask for their recommendations when making order, they are much willing to share with you.

Here we have the cereal prawn, deep fried sotong, Teochew style steamed fish and sweet potato leaves.

Bird nest egg tart is nice, egg tart is still warm! Coconut jelly was quite sweet though.

Had the chance to try Datuk Wong roast pork and it was amazing! Crispness of the skin and the fattiness of the meat burst like flavour crystals when you chew on it. The sauce from the meat goes well with rice. One plate is not enough.
Watching Datuk Wong cut his meat to great proportions was nice to watch. The size is really quite right.
Do queue early as they sell out fast and servings take long. Check out the back alley where the good pork is made.

Nicely balanced braised duck that is not too salty. Paired with the delicious buttered rice. Heard they would be opening in Singapore.

The chilli was spicy be sure to just add a dollop. The texture of the noodle was done aldente. Super value for money and tasty noodles when balanced with the awesome chilli.

Chinese relaxing way, at least for me. Eating dim sum its kind of a luxury for me, where you can sit down, many variations to choose from, drinking hot tea and just enjoy. They will bring the whole steam tray for you to choose, Siew Mai is not to miss! Or the whole tey of deep fried stuffs. Got carrot cakes, chee cheong fun, lomaikai etc!! This restaurant is one that i always go to. Not bad. I like their smooth silky congee. :)
