Can I only have this than the desserts that came after? HAHAHAH so so so good!! That we wished to have another set omg.

For teatime snack, you can always count on a Honey carrot cake slice (RM14) here. Like the cake is not overly sweet, so moist and densely packed with coconut, carrots and walnuts

The Welcome bites and savoury items from their afternoon tea set are surprisingly better than sweet items. While the classic roasted beef sandwich with Horseradish sauce is tasty, the beetroot macaron with House cured salmon and sour creme is a unique combination.

Welcome items: Garden Herb Garlic tuile, Rosemary coral tuile and lobster cone.

Savoury items:
1. Foie gras delight: pancake coated foie gras with Banyuls shallots.
2. Land meets Sea: beetroot macaron with House cured Atlantic Salmon and sour creme.
3. The Cracker: crab meet grissini, ginger & Lemongrass, curry Cappuccino.
4. The Seawave: Sea urchin creme with sliced Granny Smith and shaved Bottarga.
5. The Classic: Roasted beef sandwich with Horseradish sauce.

An unconventional yet innovative afternoon tea at Altitude by Austrian Chef Alexander Waschl. Those who wish to lounge in a relaxing ambience, high ceiling interior with glittery lightings and impressive backdrop of the city skyline might enjoy this sky high afternoon tea at the newly opened Banyan Tree KL.

Their afternoon tea set is served accordingly from Welcome(canapés), to Savoury and lastly Sweets. You can choose from a selection of Harney & Sons fine tea or coffee to pair with it. While the presentation seems promising, I find it lack of dept when it comes to taste and the portions were rather small like canapés for cocktails. I find their buttery mini scones quite good as they taste like the real deal but not satisfying enough since each of them is a bite size full.

Sweet items:
1. Briolette bites: Raspberries & Violet mousse cake with 35% glazed white chocolate.
2. Mango passion fruit explosion: Passionfruit mousse with mango jelly green tea sponge.
3. Strawberry etton mess: Pastry cream with fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce, coconut meringue almond sponge.
4. Cherry Choc: Cherry mousse with cherry jelly, almond sponge and sea salt choc Sablés.
5. Pistachio macaroons.
6. Teh tarik choux choux: Choux pastry filled with Teh tarik pastry cream, chocolate hazelnut Gianduja molten heart.
7. Classic plain mini scones and cranberry mini scones.

Price at RM94 nett per person.

Gorgeous interior. A place for special occasions. If you plan to bring balloons, please be warned that they do not allow balloons inside. The receptionist will keep it in the store.

Loved their mozzarella burrata (pictured) and spaghetti with tomatoes, chives & basil. Ordered their seafood pizza and it was a disappointment. The crust was thin but hard. Tried cutting it with the knife but I had a better outcome by biting it.

As for dessert, I had the tiramisu. The portion is good for 2 people sharing. Love the macadamia and honeycomb in it. Definitely something different than the usual.

If you’re looking to just hang around KLCC, sipping on some wine and having just a good view and a good meal Chinoz it is. Sadly, they removed their signature wood fire pizzas off the menu. :( Tried their Chicken Pie, Prawn pasta and the pate. Pretty decent but expect to pay a fancy price for it too. But hey, fountain shows at night is pretty amazing at KLCC tho.

Avg price: RM 50

Buffet Lunch - RM$92.45
Serawa Durian Served with Glutinous Rice
·
It’s Malaysia highest restaurant, at 282m above ground, it’s also a revolving restaurant! Located at KL Tower, the buffet lunch is slight pricey but you get to view the whole of KL under you eyes as you dine! The place offers modern authentic Malaysian & international cuisines. The dessert was what caught my attention. Warm durian purée, of which every spoon is smooth and you could chew into some of the durian bits, reminding you it’s the real deal. Dipping a couple glutinous rice into the purée and let it soak as you eat it bits by bits, it’s so shiok. That alone with the million dollar view it’s already worth the price. The night view would be much nice but take note the ticket price will double

The food is not fantastic with a pretty limited selection, but what I find special about this place is that the restaurant is revolving at around 1.5 hours per complete round. That kind of wrap up the whole lunch experience, with a live singer to jazz up the atmosphere.

Selfies, wefies or paid photography is a must to capture the moment, but I thought one of the more delicious dishes is actually the Serawa Durian served with Glutinous Rice, which was what I define as watery but undiluted Durian Pengat, thanks to the coconut milk and Gula Melaka added into it.

If you are visiting Kuala Lumpur just like me, I suggest you book a table in advance. The regular price for this meal is RM92.45 per adult.

If you’re looking for unique afternoon tea experience, you should probably visit Trace at Elements by Westin KL. Their Arteastry afternoon tea set comprises two part. Part one consist of savoury items like waffle topped with salmon and crème fraîche, confit portobello mushrooms with Swiss cheese bruschetta, chicken sliders with Tomato relish in mini croissants, tomato basils macarons etc..as well as mixed scones serve with preserved and clotted cream. In general, they were slightly below expectation.

Aside from the beautiful ambiance that faces the entrance of Pavilion KL, the pastries here left me confused. There was Gula Melaka in the Unicorn Tiramisu and tasted like a Gula Melaka cake, the Creme Brûlée macaron tasted like a lemon macaron and the pain au chocolat has visibly close to no chocolate in it. Aside from the flavor profile, the pastries were decently executed. Not sure if this place calls for a return visit.
