The best parma ham & rockets pizza I've had so far! 😋

Great portions of rockets & parma ham. This was also the first place where they drizzled a good portion of olive oil on the pizza (other places leave this out entirely)! I would definitely come back for this! 👍🏻

One of the best pizzas I had so far! The mozzarella & mascarpone base was great, and the mushroom paired well with it! 👍🏻 But might be too rich/jelat for some.

Would definitely come back for more of this! 😋

On multiple occasions I have really enjoyed the Saffron Risotto ($28++) here; a spectacular, well balanced dish with creamy broth, chewy rice, juicy plump scallops with a buttery crisp sear. Big hit for me, I really appreciate their use of scallops compared to the usual prawn/calamari/clam mix that most Italian places do for their Zafferano.

The La Nonna pizza ($24.5++) has a strong presence on many review sites and blogs, but was rather in the realm of "good, not great" when I tried it. Good crust, decent ingredients. The truffle in unfortunately difficult to detect.

Gnocchi ($25++) is a miss. Dumplings themselves are heavy and cloying.

Complimentary bread basket is a very nice touch, warm crisp bun and seasoned breadstick. Simple but thoughtfully executed.

Service is professional, but the waitstaff tend to be very busy even late on weeknights. Tables are a little squeezy. I suppose both factors could be indicative that the place is simply very popular.

Decent value with the lunch promo or Entertainer.

A personal favourite here! Always order this and it never fails to disappoint

Parma ham, wild rocket and shaved cheese.

A classic order for me at all pizza restaurants. This rendition by Da Paolo Pizza Bar was alright, not any more outstanding than the other places like Pepperoni’s but the ambience here at HV was fantastic. Tucked away in a small quieter corner of HV, this place is the perfect hideout if you want to have a chill hangout with your friends or a nice romantic date, away from the noise and the constant buzz.

Pro tips:
1. Use the entertainer one for one to get 2 huge pizzas (bigger than your face and my face and trust me you’ll be stuffing your face full) at just $15 per pax!
2. Choose to dine alfresco (on a not so hot Singapore day, that is)

This pizza is not bad, the combination of truffle with the soft egg in the centre is heavenly!!!

I have never choked so many times on a pasta. While the portion for the lobster ravioli was generous, the sauce was a tad too tangy and spicy which was an overload on my senses. Could not stop coughing while eating this.

Da décor at Da Paolo is kind of gaudy - cow skins on wall and ceiling in a hot weather! But da pizzas are delish, and da service is very good - helpful and friendly. Located in da most remote corner of Holland Village, it must rely on its brand to attract customers, as there are more than half a dozen places selling pizzas and Italian food in de area (Original Sin, Madrinaa, La Nonna, Pizza Xpress, Crust, Otti’s Deli, plus Harry’s also serves pastas). No wonder they all offer Entertainer 1-for-1 mains!
