I only liked the Singapore Breakfast Tea ice cream. Wasnโt fancying the Vanilla Bourbon Tea ice cream and Eau Noire Tea sorbet

I'm partial to the noodle dishes; the laksa & hokkien mee won my heart with their robust flavours & fresh seafood. Also, considering you're dining in a hotel, this is a good price point.. & these dishes were considerably cheaper than the goulash.

I've been having to host colleagues from overseas as of late.. Especially for business meals, I appreciate places where I can park everyone in one spot to have a good meal & drinks.
From this perspective, what's not to love here? The ambience here is warm & welcoming, while not being stuffy or snooty. Delicious food with good variety (both locally-inspired & otherwise), tasty cocktails, & all of this in a comfortable yet classy environment that is accessible & centrally located.

The menu draws heavily from local inspiration, which is great for tourists & appreciated by Singaporeans like myself. Each key location in the menu has a Daytime or Night-time drink.
Generally, the โ๏ธ Daytime ones are vibrant & lighter on the palate, while the ๐ Night-time drinks are deeper, robust, & more spirit-forward.

As I flipped quickly through The Lobby Loungeโs latest cocktail menu, I found prices to be quite affordable... For how posh Intercontinental Singapore is, I am surprised - these prices are a steal. (For the record, NOT complaining about not having to pay exorbitant prices ๐)

I know, desserts are distractions designed by the buffet to divert you from where the money is, the meat & the seafood, but I canโt ignore these seemly sweets. I canโt, Iโm not strong enough. Besides, everyone has a magical dessert stomach that manifests only when desserts are ingested.โ

Colonyโs dessert lineup might just be the most comprehensive one Iโve seen so far in Singapore. The Nyonya sweets like ondeh ondeh, rainbow kueh & ang ku kueh all earned the ultimate Asian accolade of โnot too sweetโ, but were all unremarkable otherwise. The real stars of the dessert were the chocolate bars, the refreshing orange sorbet, and the assorted pastries.โ

I reckon that the chocolate bars are created in house, and Iโm pleasantly amazed that they can actually compete with the established chocolate confectioners. As charming as the chocolate was, it paled in comparison to the perfection of the pastries. The Green Tea Raspberry was definitely the most aesthetically appealing one, and it was suitably sweet to boot. The sweet green tea filling & the raspberry glaze coexisted in harmony on a buttery, crumbly tart base, and the sweet balances with the sour superbly.โ

As a chocoholic, I was smitten by the Chocolate Passionfruit Tart. The passionfruit was the zesty streak that enlivened the rich, mildly bitter dark chocolate tart, creating a decadent dessert that did tasted & felt oh so right. However, my favourite dessert of the night simply has to go to the breathtaking Baked Fruit Tart. The tart shell was beautifully buttery & captivatingly crumbly, and the sweet yet tart berry and assorted fruit filling was perfection. Sticky, sweet without going overboard, with a tinge of tartness from the berries to restrain the sugars, this tart is a tremendous treat to end the buffet.โ
