The rice was so fragrant with coconut. It was soft and fluffy and I was able to taste every grain of rice.
The chicken wing was really well marinated and extremely crispy on the outside while meat remains tender.
The tofu was drenched with something like asam gravy, tangy yet robust with flavour.
The sambal was the right spiciness and it was not the typical sweet kind hence it really went well with everything that was on my plate. This was really worth the price and itโ€™s something Iโ€™ll go back for.

The laksa gravy was slightly diluted but the prawns was on point. Fresh and crunchy, plus they help to de-shell the body. Love it!

Chicken thigh set with additional fish fillet. Set comes with chicken thigh, vegetable and a fried egg. Do love their chilli and the sambal that was fried with the brinjal. The downside was that most of the food served are all fried with sambal. However rice was really fragrant and chilli was extremely good.

Famous Nasi Lemak from Holland Village. For an affordable price of $3.50, you get a fried chicken wing, acar, a fried egg, ikan bilis with peanuts, sambal, cucumber and of course the Nasi Lemak rice.

Although the rice wasn't extremely coconutty in terms of flavour, but it was decent enough to know that it was coconut rice, and the general fluffiness and fragrance was there.

For a modest price of $3.50 this is a very complete set, the chicken crisp outside, juicy inside, acar tasted sweet, sour, and a little spicy. Sambal could have been a bit better (in terms of having more of a spicy kick, it's more to the sweeter side), and well the fried egg had a semi runny yolk (don't expect this all the time, I don't think they are very consistent with cooking fried sunny side up eggs with a runny yolk). Overall, thumbs up!! Rate 4.5/5!

This nasi lemak stall has been here since the beginning of times and the star is really in the sambal.

I particularly like the Long beans with sambal because they are cooked so well. Elsewhere they are either overcooked , too greasy or worst still, undercooked .

Given that the really good nasi lemak stalls are in the Far East of Singapore , this location at holland is perfect for a west- tee like me.

Since my last try , the rice quality has improved quite a bit - they used to use rice that was so poor in quality , it tasted like plastic . The rice is now featherlight and has a soft coconut aroma.

Having said that - I kept coming back because of the yummy condiments that they serve and that they are open throughout the day so there is no fuss about rushing in early to get my nasi lemak fix.

Weekend breakfasts are made of these. Oozy egg atop fluffy, fragrant coconut rice, crispy ikan billies and peanuts, shiok sambal and soft eggplant. Unfortunately the fried chicken wasnโ€™t the best cause it had been sitting out for a bit, but everything else made up for it. ๐Ÿ˜‹

The same stall not only sells Katong Laksa, but sells Nasi Lemak too! Personally I found the rice soft and fluffy but not "Lemak" enough. Opted for the chicken thigh instead which was generous in portion; crisp and succulent but seemed to lost some moisture and served cold as they fried big batches and left them there awaiting for orders. Long beans were savoury and has enough kick (though wouldn't kill), while they were generous on the Ikan Bilis which were crunchy and savoury. Fried egg was flowy and thankfully did not taste of overused oil. Quite liked the chili here; very mild in spiciness but carries the unique sweetness in Nasi Lemak chili well. Not really something I will order here all the time for its not spectacular, but is definitely fine for a simple lunch when the craving for Nasi Lemak hits.

One of the best katong laksa I had so far. The soup was amazing and I pretty much finished the whole bowl without a sweat. This is even better than 328 katong laksa. Really. I swear.
