Went for the Baked Cheese Grilled Chicken with Onion Rings and Coleslaw as my choice of sides. This is pretty much what some would call "pizza chicken" — oozy, melty cheese that is all stringy and stretchy that covers the tender and juicy grilled chicken; definitely satisfying for its cheesiness and herbs that they had used over the top.

Having tried their fried chicken cutlet the precious time, mum decided to go for the Chicken Chop with Salted Egg sauce (there are quite a couple of sauces available ranging from Mushroom, Black Pepper, Peanut, Satay Rendang etc.). The grilled chicken chop is decent; tenderly grilled and comes pretty juicy — could do even better if they could get a crispier skin. The soup was rather uninspiring and watery, and we opted for the salted egg yolk sauce which carries a hint of savoury flavour but a little too liquid in consistency for the flavours to deliver the punch — it felt a little short of its fullest potential. That being said, it's possible that the grilled chicken chop is also not quite the best item to order with the salted egg yolk sauce given how the sauce is in contact with the juices of the chicken the moment the sauce gets drenched above (as opposed to chicken cutlet that remains on top of the fried crust). For the two sides, we opted for the onion rings which we had ordered previously and thought were rather decent as well as the baked potato — pretty strange for it comes with tartar/mayo that gave it a tangy and sweet flavour; would have preferred it to come with the classic sour cream instead.

Visited Cecilia's Bistro again and brought dad down to try their food — they seemed to have added a bowl of soup to all our mains ever since our visit just days ago without increasing prices. While the soup was rather uninspiring and a tad watery, the Fish & Chips were pretty satisfactory despite the fried batter being a little bit dark; it's satisfyingly crisp on the exterior while the insides were flaky and moist. There are quite a couple of choices for the sauces such as Satay Rendang, Peanut, Salted Egg Yolk, Mushroom and Black Pepper — we opted for the cheese sauce to go with the Fish & Chips; the same Nacho Cheese sauce that we secretly love deep down. Going for the fries and coleslaw for our choice of two sides, the quality of the coleslaw still remained consistent while the fries (which we were trying for the first time) were crisp but could do with a little more salt or perhaps even Cajun seasoning.

From Cecilia's Bistro at the S11 coffeeshop beside the carpark in Blk 630A Woodlands Ring Road. This unassuming chicken cutlet may seem like it's totally missing the point when first served but pretty impressed with how the oats gave it a unique buttery, crispy and fragrant flavour to the tender and crisp chicken cutlet. Choose two sides from the range available on the menu; the onion rings and coleslaw were pretty decent choices with the latter coming cold, crunchy and creamy like how I like my Coleslaw to be like.

From Cecilia's Bistro at the S11 coffeeshop situated within the carpark at Blk 630A Woodlands Ring Road. Saw some people posting about it on Instagram and came across their full menu on Facebook which includes Chicken Corden Bleu, Chicken Chops/Fish & Chips with dips (salted egg yolk, Rendang and Satay just to name a few) and decided to give it a visit since it's pretty much nearby.

Pretty well-executed and they got the basics nailed right on this one — it even comes with the satisfying oozy cheese though it's not a lot (then again, it's just $6.90!). The chicken was crisp and reasonably tender while stuffed with stretchy cheese and ham for a little savoury flavour and also some peppercorns to add a hint of spiciness and peppery flavour that helped to enhance the overall flavour. Sides are fixed for this dish, which are the mashed potatoes and coleslaw; both decent but I like how the latter is creamy and served cold — the way I like my coleslaw to be. Guess this is going to be a convenient spot for me to get some of my sinful cravings settled soon!
