This is the Cantonese-style thick congee, made flavourful by the addition of pork slices and porkballs. Mixed together with the egg, it was a very rich bowl of porridge! Would have been tastier and more balanced with some chives.

🌞Comforting bowl of pork porridge (S$3). Smooth and thick type of porridge with pork meatballs and some youtiao. I like that its not salty. Recommend to add an egg for an additional 50cents.

Porridge looked really promising initially (especially when walking past tables of people happily slurping it down) with the grain-less appearance suggesting that it had probably been simmered over a long time. However, the first mouthful was slightly disappointing as it wasn’t as flavourful as I had expected. Pretty average porridge at this price point, plus ingredients weren’t particularly generous (3 meatballs, 4 youtiao parts, half a century egg) or impressive (youtiao wasn’t crispy, meatballs were very average). Maybe I’m not ordering the right dish, but expected more of this much raved about dish ☹️☹️ If you want a solid bowl of porridge, so check out Sin Heng Kee Porridge instead!

Ridiculous amount of meatballs given for its price and I was only expecting minced meat lol. The porridge is really thick and the grains of rice have all but dissolved. Meatballs were really tender and fragrant with sesame oil, but because of the thickness of the porridge I felt that the century egg flavour didn't really permeate into the porridge. However no worries since the portion of century egg is generous as well so you can always taste century egg in each spoonful. The youtiao is expectedly lacking in crunch at night but if you're gonna mix it in anyway then it doesn't really matter right? Really unique bowl of porridge both in terms of texture and amount of ingredients

Comfort food for upset stomach on a rainy evening. $3.50 without egg, plus an egg for additional 50cents. It's always long queue.

Operated in two different stall in the same market (one in the morning, another in the evening). Side note: There is a kopi stall named Blend, just a few stalls down. Super good coffee with a strong kick of coffee taste which I loved! .
