💬: Despite its funky name, this was just an ondeh ondeh cake - a real good one at that though 🤤👌🏻

No their bingka ubi isn't life-changing, but it's decent enough. Smooth and right amount of denseness. Their double cheese was very savoury and that went the two elements actually worked interestingly tgt, even though it's hardly a perfect match by any means. Worth a try!

Yup deserves to be called 24k, not only because of the gold layer(which i learnt recently that isn't very expensive due to the thinness of the layer). Really soft and fudgy texture(is it aerated abit?), with full on flavour and a hint of dark chocolate to finish, without the much bitterness or acidity. Very very good!

They ran out of kuehs. WTH lol chalk farm running out of kueh is like macs running out of burgers. Went at about 5pm?

However, this is probably the best banana cake I've ever had(and maybe one of the most expensive too). Super strong banana taste, moist and dense, with a melting finish. The glaze was pretty sweet but flavour wise it pairs well w the banana.

At first I was wondering if it's even fair to compare a bundt cake to regular banana loaves, since I've heard there's more eggs in them than usual cakes(even though there's no fixed recipe for them, the name comes solely from the shape), resulting in a more intense and moist cake. But in the end, a cake is a cake, and this is the best banana cake I've had as of 19/11/20

Tldr must try

The cake was rather light, not those dense kind of chocolate cake. The chocolate cream wasn’t too sweet. Overall, this cake is not bad to have but not a must have.

Who else falls for pretty cakes? Had this for tea break today, and it tasted like alcohol in cake form, the centre buttercream has lots of marsala wine. The sponge layers have a bread-like flavour/texture, and the cream on top is ordinary cream (my mom calls it “fake cream”, it’s not fresh cream). Kind of expensive for what it is, and some of the servers are quite snobby like they own the shop and are doing a favour by answering our questions. Um, maybe put a label so people know what cakes are for sale and how much? 🙄😪 Anyway, it comes with a blackberry and a goldleaf dusted Malteser on top, but will probably give this a miss next time - there are better cakes out there like the Carrot Whiskey Sultana.
