If you’ve travelled to the US, you might’ve seen Panda Express, the American style economic rice. Chao sells food in a similar style, choose a base like sweet potato, ee fu noodles, rice , a meat, a side and a sauce for $6. It’s $3 per serving if you have burpple beyond!!

For the meat, I tried the kung pao chicken which wasn’t spicy. The chicken meat was breast meat. The ee fu noodles were springy but slightly bland, I think the idea is to drizzle the provided sauce onto the food to add flavour to the noodles. I tried the lemon sauce which was tad to sour for me.

The wasabi mayo fried chicken wasn’t crispy but it was at least better tasting than the kung pow chicken. Definitely going for that, the next time I’m ordering Chao. Service staff are friendly! There’s like 10 seats which are bar top style dinning. It’s really a hole in the wall shop, meant for takeaway. I like the concept!
