Causeway Bay

It’s a yearly tradition to visit chee Kei although prices have been increasing.

Its perhaps not just the wanton noodles alone that draws me back but the idea of having my hot ginger barley drink and my favourite poached cai Xin some just right in superior broth .

The wantons and noodles are good enough and the service is brisk and fast .

Still preferring to order my egg noodles separate from my soup wanton. See the generous spring onion and ginger - you'll not get that anywhere else but HK. Love the simplicity of Hong Kong wanton noodle, without the thick Viet oyster sauce, Malaysian black soy sauce, Singapore chili paste, China bean paste... , the noodle's original egg and ghee taste comes through unmuffled, uncluttered, unbelievably good!


U gotta try the excellent XO sauce with the wantons!
