This egg tart is $1. It's good value for money. The filling is smooth too. However if you buy it home, it will taste better if you toast it in the grill a bit because it can be abit plain when it has gone soft.

$1 each

The egg pudding was silky smooth.

The crust was a little tasteless I feel

Indulge yourself with a lil bit of HongKong goodness. 😋😋😋

Personally I'd prefer the normal tart-crust compared to this flaky kind.. but nvm! It's $1. 😍

At Chef Hong H.K. Bakery (#01-79), we spotted something interesting and black - Charcoal Crispy Tart for just $1 each. 😋

The charcoal-infused puff pastry was flaky when we had it warm but not so for those we tabao-ed home. After taking a bite, we were slightly disappointed that there was not much of the eggy and smooth custard in the tart. But for $1, we are not complaining. 😅

It probably sounds sacrilegious but I find the "liu sha" in this bun from Chef Hong H.K. Bakery (stall #01-79 in Old Airport Road Hawker Centre) tastier than the one in many salted egg croissants. 😁 Of course I wish they would fill that glorious golden lava to the brim of the hollow rather than just halfway. One can never have too much "liu sha" if it tastes scrumptious.
