silky smooth cheong fun with a super generous amount of fillings 🀩 loved how the prawns were v fresh with a bouncy yet firm texture, which melded well with the tender rice rolls. the mushroom one was surprisingly good and packed alot of umami and earthiness from the mushrooms, super satisfying for a mushroom lover like me!! wished the sauce could be more savoury instead of sweet but it was easily balanced out by pairing the rolls w their housemade chilli!

Had the Prawn Chee Cheong Fun ($5) and this is delicious. Skin is not that thick and prawn is big enough. One of the better one that I tried

Chee cheong fun (or rice noodle rolls) is a dish that needs little introduction to most Singaporeans.

We are probably used to the factory-made ones (which are available at your neighbourhood kopitiams). Other than the atas freshly made ones from crystal jade / imperial treasur, I only know of one stall at the Old Airport Road FC which serves freshly made CCF.

@chefweihkcheongfun is a new entrant to the local CCF scene. Helmed by an experienced ex-Peach Garden chef, it serves freshly made CCF made from four different types of flour β€” potato, chestnut, tapioca and wheat starch.

I love that their CCF are thick, chewy and smooth. Besides the plain version ($3), there is also the mushroom ($4), char siew ($4) and prawn ($5). They are very generous with their fillings --- the prawns are plump, fresh and juicy and the charsiew / stirfried mushroom are actually quite substantial. The accompanying soy sauce was really really good with a nice balance of sweet and savoury.

More importantly, their hae bee hiam was simply addictive. It is packed full of umami and I had to stop myself from going back for more.

Chef Wei HK Cheong Fun is now available at Clementi, Bukit Panjang and AMK as well. I suggest going during non-peak hours as the CCF are made to order and you can expect to wait at least 30 minutes or more during peak hours!

My first reaction to the price was like huh? $4? But the portion and quality did it justice. On top of being worth its price for the portion, the chee cheong fun itself was smooth, allowing you to slurp up every bite. The char siew made the chee cheong fun on the slightly sweeter side, but the savoury light sauce did help to kick in a bit of saltiness.

Helm by Chef Thoo (former Peach Garden chef), get these silky smooth HK-style Chee Cheong Fun at affordable hawker price. 4 options to choose from Plain, Char Siew, Mushroom and Prawn.

Signature Mushroom Cheong Fun ($4) is a must-try! Shiitake and shimeji mushrooms are stir-fried in butter and oyster sauce, it gives a sweetness and accentuates the earthiness of the ingredients.
