The mapo don is bomb, soup is bomb, even the veg is bomb too!!!! Would defo come back again

The Tofu is just so addictive with the Szechuan peppers infused into the sauce . The rice is also a slightly chewy sticky rice similar to Japanese rice . I finished all the rice which speaks a lot about how much I like the โ€œZhupโ€ and the rice

I think one of the effects of CB is that it makes you crave for food that is not easily found in your heartland neighbourhood.

Would love to have a bowl of steaming hot rice topped with the silk smooth tofu coupled with fiery red Szechuan chilli sauce!

Mapo Don ($10.50 nett). Tofu was silky, but was a bit more q than your standard silken tofu. Cooked in a thick and spicy mala sauce drizzled on chewy pearl rice, this was a great rainy weather lunch ๐Ÿ˜‹ soup was surprisingly delicious too, could taste hints of fried egg?? Will be back to try their dandan mian

The Mapo is delicious but might be a bit tad spicy for people who canโ€™t take spiciness like me. I bought the deal during Chope Birthday sale for their signature set at $9.90 and went on a Saturday night. Do note that they close at 8pm on sat so head down earlier.

The place is right at one corner of downtown gallery, so it might take a while for you to find the restaurant. We ordered the Mapo signature set as well as the Dandanmian set. Both taste good, but I ended up eating more of the dandanmian because it was not spicy.

Will return again because the Mapo is really good!

Doused with a thiccc & flavourful Mala sauce ๐ŸŒถ, Chen's Mapo Mien boasts of a spicy numbing kick! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Wished the noodles had a firmer bite (maybe cuz I waited till lunch break & took some time with pictures ๐Ÿ˜…) but it sure satisfied my Mala cravings! โœ”
Also enjoyed their Buta Don ๐Ÿ’•, which features extremely thinly-sliced Szechuan-spiced pork ๐Ÿ– stir-fried with onions & leek, atop a bed of fluffy rice ๐Ÿš! The perfectly runny onsen egg ๐Ÿณ acted as a binding agent! ๐Ÿ˜‹ The whole combination exudes a very oriental feel. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
This takeaway bundle ($30.80) comes with a side of seasonable vegetables ๐Ÿฅฌ as well as Szechuan Popcorn Chicken which was irresistibly crunchy! ๐Ÿคค
