Hamachi carpaccio with truffle bits and ikura. Refreshing and the ikura spheres do a good job of ensuring the dish is not overwhelmed by the aroma of truffle

Modern fusion sandwich which they term it as the “breadless” sandwich. Not extraordinary in terms of my opinion, tho decently filled with salmon, lettuce and avocado + some salmon roe sauce. It’s served with an option of 4 dipping sauces - wasabi-yuzu, garlic miso, red pepper, yuzu-olive. Featured here is the wasabi yuzu dip! $8++ for 1 roll (as pictured) and twice the price for double rolls. Noted from some tables that it’s served as an appetizer, rather than a main. I guess that’s a pretty good “appetizer” to share for big eaters, given the mains are not exceptionally huge in portions.

Was thinking more of a hearty greasy korean pancake when we placed the order, but turned out to be a few confusing cardboard pieces made stranger with balsamic vinegarish sauce heh. Whatever crab on top was yummy though.

Prawn tempura maki with mentai mayonnaise. And fluffed up with cookied prawns, caviar-lookalike, tempura batter bits and some other yummy unidentifable stuff. A feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds, if you'd ignore that hefty pricetag. Definitely my favourite dish of the day.

What you'll see on Chi Kinjo's menu is only the tip of the ice burg. Chef Lamley and Chef Ace have been experimenting several new items daily, and I've the good fortune to try some of their off-menu specials that showcased their skills and creativity.

Chi Kinjo is the first outlet under Coterie Concepts group that has food as its focus, although the group has been famous for their bars – Sum Yi Tai, Mona Lounge, and Eliza Cocktail Bar.

Pictured is salmon belly sushi with crispy salmon skin, nori cheese, and mustard frilld. Maybe we will see it on the menu soon?

For a quick, affordable lunch with a modern twist, Chi Kinjo has came up with 6 flavours for their newly created sushi sandwich, to be paired with a choice of four dipping sauces. Pictured is the Asian Prawn Cocktail with tiger prawns and chilli shrimp paste; and the Phoenix Roll with unagi and crab.
