A very old school type of laksa that is not too lemak and full of shrimp aroma as lots of dried shrimps are used to cook the gravy. The yong tau foo are prepared by the two elderly ladies daily. Once the YTF are sold out the stall will close for the day. The stall also sells fried mee and bee hoon. My YTF laksa cost $4. So it’s both yummy plus value for money.

Traditional Wa Kueh with some minced garlic and chilli on top. First time trying this. This rice pudding of Hokkien origins is made by steaming the rice mixture in bowls.

This place needs no words. Tastes as good as it looks (or even better). A good blend of coconut milk, red beans, gula melaka and chendol. Was especially impressed by the pandan flavor of the chendol because it had a stronger taste of pandan compared to the rest of the chendols i had so far in singapore. Although this still cant beat the chendols in melaka, it is a very nice substitute and a very refreshing dessert to beat the heat. A 4/5 must try!! (But location abit far)

By far the best glutinous rice that I’ve tried, and also a family favourite for years. We prefer the savoury version over the sweet!

The rice is sticky, chewy but not mushy; peanuts stewed nicely; fried shallots were crisp and fragrant. Some places get the rice either too dry or too mushy, but they do it just right here. The uncle is also very friendly :)

P.s. I’m glad there’s no haebi in their glutinous rice, these simple ingredients shine through.

This ccf was super good! Soft and not too thick, with a delicious sweet & savoury brown sauce + sesame oil. These were one of the nicest non-hk style ccfs I’ve had, and the stall owners are friendly too! A great breakfast option :)

I like that it's not too sweet, and the mild spiciness from the ginger warms up the stomach on this rainy day.
