1. Jjimdak ($19.90) Instead of braised chicken stew, their chicken is first fried in their special marinate before it it is braised with soy gravy, jjolmyeon, topokki and beansprouts. Available in spicy and non spicy. The spicy version is not for the faint hearted. It can definitely leave scars on your tongue!

2.Soy Dakgalbi ($32.90) Roasted chicken thigh in a sticky sweet and salty soy dakgalbi sauce. Topped on top of korean rice with seaweed, flying fish roe and sesame oil. I can imagine this being a top favourite for kids. Slightly sweet and slightly salty and not spicy at all. .

3.Chir Chir Spring Chicken ($28.90) Whole spring chicken, fresh fries, pickled radish and naengmyeon. If you are there as a party of 4 or maybe 6 girls. You can have this for any celebration! Perfectly fried chicken paired with refreshing picked radish and a naengmyeon to cool down the body after all is done!

Another favourite of mine from @chirchirsg’s new menu has got to be the Curry Fried Chicken ($28.90)!

Their signature crispy batter coated generously with flavourful, slightly spicy curry powder while the chicken remains juicy and tender inside - comes with a curry dipping sauce that’s slightly on the sweeter side but absolutely addictive.

•HOSTED TASTING•

Let's get cheesy! Unanimously a hot favorite among the Burpple Tastemakers. It's gonna be hard to resist the temptation as you watch the mozzarella cheese served on this hot plate over an open flame, slowly bubble and melt. Grab a piece of the roasted chicken thigh and topokki marinated in a fusion of sweet spicy BBQ sauce and Korean Gochujang, and twirl them around with the melted cheese. In fact, the cheese helps to suppress the spiciness. Heavenly as the different flavors burst in your mouth.

I’m pretty sure the Curry Fried Chicken ($28.90) will be a hit with my friends on our next visit (whenever that will be). The aromatic curry seasoning powder full coats the fried chicken like a thin crusty shell, and taste a little like Japanese-style curry, or, dare I say, Maccas curry sauce dip - sweet, mildly spicy, and pretty addictive! You can dip the juicy tender chicken into the accompanying dip to amp up the flavour.

The mixed rice with seaweed flakes, flying fish roe and sesame oil lines the hotplate, with the roast chicken thigh pieces glazed in barbecue and soy sauce marinate resting on top - not for long though >D This dish is definitely safe enough for people who can’t handle spicy, but for those who need that fiery jolt, there’s a spicy version using barbecue sauce and gochujang! That, however, goes better with the Cheesy Dakgalbi ($32.90) with the ring of mozzarella to smother the heat when it starts to burn your palate.

The gravy is loaded with capsaicin so if you plan to drink it, do it slowly… The stew comes with chewy jjolmyeon (wheat noodles), tteokbokki (rice cakes) and a mountain of beansprouts, so mix the pot well and let it simmer for some time before digging in. Get a pitcher of the grapefruit yogurt smoothie to quell the spiciness, or the Ladykiller (something like a beer frozen margarita) to cool off.

First up, they are introducing smaller portions! Imagined how you can barely finish a single portion among 2 ppl, now they have 6 pieces per portions, meaning you can try more flavours! 😋

3. Pineapple smoothie - a bit like a mocktail pina colada. Flavours of pineapple and coconut. Very refreshing. Great to wash down the fried chicken! .

It's so hard to choose a favorite among the dishes in the newly revamped menu by Chir Chir! I haven't had such mouthwatering fried chicken in a while; juicy chicken parts deep fried with a crispy crunchy batter, coated explosively with curry powder. The spiciness was just right, and additionally fragrant with the crispy curry leaves, almond and chili flakes. Coming across flavors like these makes me even more motivated to become a flavorist. 😂 Dip the meat in the Japanese curry sauce-alike for some sweetness amidst the spiciness!

Had a sneak peak of @chirchirsg’s new menu which is launching today. Happy to report I loved everything, but if I reaaaaaally had to pick a favourite, it’ll definitely be this Cheesy Dakgalbi, because cheese!

Served in a hotplate, with a good sweet-savoury blend of BBQ sauce with gochujang, giving quite a fiery kick for someone with lower spicy-tolerance - but it’s absolutely addictive. Eat it however you like - as it is or with the decadent oozy mozzarella. Comes with toppoki that I actually liked with a bit of a caramelisation from leaving it a little longer. A comforting option good for sharing.

I always have a thing for the soy flavor in Korean food, because it encompasses sweetness amidst the saltiness. So tell me how not to drool over these succulent pieces of roasted chicken thigh, so beautifully glazed in BBQ and soy sauces. Makes a good dish with the warmly steamed Korean rice on the hot plate, mixed with seaweed flakes, flying fish roe and sesame seeds, which I thought was somewhat an inclusion of Japanese element. But a tinge of savory is always welcomed to balance out the overall flavor.

The Curry Fried Chicken was another hit with us for its super crunchy skin peppered with mild spicy curry seasoning powder around its juicy meat. I usually avoid curry flavored food like this because of how overwhelming it can get but this was just right and gets addictive! I like drumsticks most for they’re often the best bet for the juiciest parts of a whole chicken, so you'd be sure I was impressed that even a random piece I had from this tray was very tender and juicy. The accompanying curry dipping sauce was a little too sweet for me but the pieces of well fried chicken were already very good on its own without being greasy!

Chir Chir's launching new items today! This Cheesy Dakgalbi's more for lovers of spicy food - thick coats of melted mozzarella cheese over spicy-sweet tender chicken bites (roasted chicken thigh) and chewy rice cakes. Few mouths in and you’d quickly get that shiok lingering heat!
