Deep fried boneless chicken tenders coated with honey butter seasoning, along with potato wedges and rice cakes, served with a side of honey butter sauce. Fans of the popular korean snack- Honey Butter Chips would find the taste familiar, with a characteristic sweetness and lingering fragrance. The chicken chunks are deep fried to an ideal crisp perfection, well seasoned, with a tender and succulent interior. The korean rice cakes are fried to a slightly crisp exterior with a chewy mouthfeel that requires some jaw exercise. Along with crisp and thick wedges, the side of honey butter dipping sauce can be easily omitted as all the other elements tasted great in silo. Great for those who aren’t a fan of spice (and perhaps with a sweet tooth) as this dish is non-spicy and leaned towards the sweeter flavour profile despite being a savoury dish .

Mac & cheese tossed along with prawns, shredded crabsticks served on a hot skillet pan. Yay or Nay? Along with tomato sauce and a thin top surface layer of melted gooey cheese, macaronis swimming in a pool of creamy, cheesy sauce, my favourite component got to be the fresh, plump and juicy prawns embedded within. Would have been great if there was more seafood components though (and perhaps crabmeat instead of crabstick 😅). Fortunately the cheese wasn’t too overwhelming and pretty much manageable, though I would highly recommend sharing so as to leave some space for the other items here such as the signature fried chicken! 🍗 .

This majestic, towering mountain of 3 types of ooey-gooey cheese and crisp chicken tenders is truly befitting of its name! Grab a wedge or chicken tender, and marvel at the thick, stringy cheese pull as it makes the journey to your plate 😍 The constituents did feel a little dry beneath the molten cheese though it’s not an issue if you hydrate yourself at the Tuk Tuk Cha located just outside! Supposedly serves 2, but it was a lil too “jelak” for our party of 5, so make sure to come with an army of hungry friends!! 😋

Chir Chir was having a 50% off this week so we immediately decided to go down and try! This rose cheese chirqueen is chicken tenders topped with a generous helping of cream sauce and cheese. I loved how it was served on a hot plate so the cheese is always hot and gooey and wouldn’t get cold. The cheese is slightly spicy to give it a little kick however it was slightly too mild for my tastes.
The 50% was super worth it though! We had five people and ordered this and the garlic chicken, and were super full afterwards though we only spent $7 each per person??

Sweet-flavoured chicken might sound peculiar, but this is one of the signatures I keep returning to at Chir Chir. I especially love that under those crunchy jackets of honey butter batter, the marinated chicken meat itself is savoury and tasty. And those pan-fried topokki – you just can’t stop at one!

Each tender is crispy, tender, juicy and jam-packed with honey butter deliciouness! The chicken is not all that's good; the tteobokki is super yummy as well, but I feel that this needs more of it! Regardless, this dish is most certainly a winner winner chicken dinner. 😋

Encrusted with their signature batter and showered with a liberal coating of addictive curry seasoning, Chir Chir’s Curry Fried Chicken ($28.90) was absolutely mouthwatering! Tender and moist on the inside, the skin was deep-fried to a crunchy golden perfection. And a nice change from the familiar Korean fried chicken flavours that we usually get here; you got to adore the added textures from the crispy curry leaves, almond and chilli flakes as well as the aromatic boost they provide - savoury, mildly salty and sweet with a very subtle spicy kick. Then, double up the dose with their sweet curry dip served on the side.

A refreshing blend of pineapple, coconut and strawberry, this smoothie went well with our meal and especially good in calming down the heat from the spicier dishes. Wasn’t too sweet either! One jug is good for about 3-4 pax.

Roasted chicken thigh in a soy dakgalbi glaze, on top of rice mixed with seaweed, flying fish roe and sesame oil. This Soy Dakgalbi was a surprising nice change from the rest of the dishes we had. The savoury sweet chunks of chicken thighs were succulent and I liked the pops of roe in the mouthfuls of rice. It’s definitely more tame compared to those we had like the Jjimdak, Cheesy Dakgalbi and Curry Fried Chicken, but I appreciated the simplicity of flavors which was actually quite addictive. It is however, kinda pricey for what you get!

Most jjimdaks are braised chicken, but Chir Chir has their chicken fried before braising in soy gravy and adding on jjolmyeon (Korean chewy wheat noodles), topokki (Korean rice cakes) and beansprouts. The chicken chunks are thinly battered, slightly crispy and savoury-sweet, but I also found it to be a little jelak after a while. They serve this in both spicy and non, and the former isn’t your usual level of spice so only order it if you’re a fan of stronger heat!

A classic whole fried chicken with french fries, pickled radish and even naengmyeon for a more refreshing finish (Korean cold noodles). Similar to the other dishes we had, the chicken here was tender and juicy regardless of the parts.
